I've have been using local welding machine for long, the local type that is made with copper coil or aluminum coil and it's very heavy(it cost 30 to 40 thousand). Please I'll be going to a welding test by January next year at a company, I saw some newly imported inverter welding machine the day I submitted my application letter. A security man working in the company secretly told me that the first test is all about turning the welding machine, then set the welding current depending on the thickness of the material they gave you to weld. My biggest problem is how to operate the welding machine.
The welding machine has 3 regulators
1. The amp/current adjuster
2. Hot start
3. Arc force adjuster
Pardon me for not posting the pic of the welding machine because I didn't have any opportunity to snap it
Legends that have been using it should please explain hot start and arc force for me.. please no insult. I'm loyal

Why not go to other welders and tell them you want to buy this type and he should just put you through on how to operate it

Just introduce yourself to him as a colleague

But am still wondering how you will practice what you don't have the experience before now

For plates of say 0.5 to 0.8mm,dont go above 30amps

The machine is actually very easy to use, easier than that apoti fedeco you are used to..
Start your welding with 25-30amps, strike on a wasted material until you get the required result then weld as normal.. If you want to weld let's say h beam or 20mm rods, increase your amp..
Just increase your amps to suit your weld..

NO GO DEY WELD CARBON O cos it's easy to weld carbon on that machine

Southniyikaye on the beat..

Most welders do not use the type of machine he described... It is mostly used by companies
