Take a look.

On the average, like how many bags of cement can be used per sqm for tiling.

Once you respond, I'll tell you what my Beninois tilers have used for this bathroom wall

This is nothing but pure tribal hate. An attempt at ethnic profiling meant to demarket a section of people because of their occupation.

I used to think this place is a decent section different from our rough and tumble in the politics section. I might be wrong after all.

I will wait for you to apologize or to modify/recant this post, or we will start something here which none of you will like. I might come back with my own looooooong ethnic stories and trust me, you all will be angry the way it might sound. If we have to take a mud bath to usher in the new year, so be it.

3 hours.

I am with you on this, we cannot allow these other tribes be profiling others for their mistakes.

We were all here some years ago when Brabus swindled up to 10 clients in our full glare here. Nobody, nobody ever mentioned that Yoruba people are crooks and 419 people. Everyone respected themselves, but one poor fvull will lose his money via greed and come on here to castigate a whole tribe of about 40 million people.

Everyone should condemn this.

Great.

They've done about 51sqm now with 9 bags.

What we're using is the Lafarge supaset.

Brabus might be forgiven for his stealing and being a crook because he is Yoruba. We are allowed to be dishonest and still brag about it because we own Lagos, we decide who should steal and who shouldn't grin

Thickness? In all honesty I don't know.

But the lafarge cement is used along with plaster sand for the walls, then for the ground, they're mixing sharp sand with cement.

Do you have any contrary view?

Good job! I love the cable arrangement.

I’m a networking guru and did structured cabling of some of the best hotels and malls in Lagos. So I can tell a good job when I see one.

_________
The cable arrangement is good I saved it twice grin for my “Lasisi and Rosco” electrical contractors.
I’ve never been able to find a good replacement for my late electrical installer.
But a typical Nigerian electrician will say "oga good cable arrangements no matter ooo". grin
Quality delivery is a habit!

Paying attention to detail is an obvious skill to highlight when you are looking to engage any artisan.

I got my first job about 3 decades ago through applying this skill. I wasn’t even qualified for the job but I remembered that my boss told me he chose to employ me because I paid attention to everything that was wrong in the room and ensured they were put right before attending to what the interviewer asked me.

Any artisan who maintain attention to detail on every project will be a lot more efficient than the one who does not - thus increasing productivity, reducing the chances of errors and making your job easier in the long run.

________
The guy who became my lead bricklayer did this job for me in 2012 (pic 1) and I asked if we can work together.

It’s one thing to buy good materials. It’s another thing to have good guys who can put it to good use.

One of the many reasons not to attempt tiling before wall Screed or POP ceiling design is the amount of debris and stains to be generated

One of the reasons I chose plasterboard/cement board over pop boards. And wallpapers over wall screed in certain areas.

______
The floor tiles in the project below has been installed even before the POP and the wall finishing. It was actually a remodeling job.

Because we are using plasterboards, we were able to minimize the amount of debris generated.

Those pop guys sabi waste materials!

Don't mind the punk head. Igbo purge him there. He didn't see yoruba people to buy things from. He honestly thought he could outsmart those traders. Whatever he calls himself he should quit being greedy and he will hardly be cheated. Instead of his people to correct him, they are there defending his attackers. Hate filled lots

The sooner we all rise above ethnic hate, the better it will be for Nigeria as a country. The comments that the hater made is not a mistake and we cannot allow such hate filled comments to thrive anywhere.

Igbos, if you allow these other tribes to use you as scape goat every time they majestic a mistake, it will get to a point where a man will be beaten by his wife at home and he will run out, find one Igbo man and kill him to douse his anger and assuage his temper. It's already trending towards that stage.

For me o, I cannot allow such comment to go on.

Kobo Kobo project doesn't necessarily mean the builder is poor.

It simply means stage by stage development, rather than timed project done on contract basis where the contractor tells you it would cost ₦50m to finish the house and you out the amount in the bank.

I remember how I started my project.

I gave myself a 3 months timeline to roof, which we achieved.

We started the first of 23 pile points on 15th April, 2020 (during the lockdown) and roofed the building exactly on 15th July, 2020.

Took a break for 1 month, then moved to windows.
After windows, we started conduit piping in September.
By mid October, we moved to sight fully with wiring, plastering etc.
From November till date finishing commenced fully with tilers, POP guys, electricians, bricklayers etc everyone is there at the site now, hoping that by Mid January, we should be done.

We are over 70% done

It still a Kobo Kobo project done in stages
oga mi, let's not be missing things up grin

If you started this your house April and you are doing finishing already by now that means your house no be Kobo Kobo house.

We the Kobo Kobo house owners start foundation and rest for 8months
set another block, rest for 5 month
finish lintel then rest for 1year
roof the house after 1 year rest for another 7 month
Start plastering and other finishing and house will be completed after 4-5 years. That's Kobo Kobo house grin

It's different from money that's on ground that you just go and pull out for the project non-stop .

We the poor Kobo house owners frawns at this your post. We know ourselves make you rich people no come dey take our place grin

Thank you so much for the detailed breakdown and analysis...much appreciated. I am leaning towards plan B too. The only issue now is finding someone to put it together.
You did mention that you would tell me where to get the items. Are you in Lagos?

You want to know how to WIN WAR without fighting? Know PEACE.

Evidence demonstrates that more wars end through negotiated peace agreements than through one side 'winning'.

If you want to know more, watch “Infinite Games” by Simon Sinek.

In infinite games, like business or politics or life itself, the players come and go, the rules are changeable and there is no defined end point.

Samsung vs Apple
Toyota vs Tesla
Stone-coated roof vs Cameroon Zinc

There is no such thing as “winning business” or “winning life,” for example, there is only ahead and behind. - Simon Sinek

So I laugh when I see people playing a finite game where there’s no such thing as winning.

Read more about American and the North Vietnamese war to know why America lost the war despite winning most of the battle.
