The best bet is to always keep your account associated with ATM card on the low with fund. You can always transfer the little money you need into your ATM account when you want to withdraw with card. Make sure your main account does not have any ATM associated with it.

Tomorrow you see them fresh, riding big cars, not knowing they have stolen from someone.

I don't make use of ATM cards. I only make use of my bank mobile app.
The worst part is that people will be hailing them when they hammer.

Imagine someone riding the latest car without any source of income. I am not trying to be jealous, but just stating the fact.

If you are a girl, and you are dating or you are married to a yahoo man, boy, or guy, you will never become a responsible mother. That's just the truth. They will buy you heaven, but just know karma will hit when it is due.

I don't even accept anything from them. Because of my excuses, they think I am jealous of their achievements. I can not feel happy about spending someone else's sweat.

God help us.

When you need to do big transactions from your major account, go physically to the banking hall, the cashiers will want to bully you into having ATM card and internet banking, insist you don't have a smart phone. They will do your transactions over the counter.
If they are obstinate, request to close the account and move your funds to another bank.
Never let them force or cajole you into doing internet banking and ATM card on your major account.

Glad no one thus far liked this rubbish.
Do you know the inconvenience and valuable man hours going to the bank takes?
What of people that get trailed by robbers as they move with physical cash, some even losing their lives in the process.
The most dangerous thing to do in today's Nigeria is moving with large sums of physical cash.It should never be compared with internet banking.

Brilliant write up. Another method of defrauding account holders who don't use bank's mobile apps is to open apps on their behalf without his or her consent.

For those who prefer to use USSD codes instead of web apps, I'll advice you visit your bank's cos such frauds are on the rise.
I know traders who have been affected by this fraud. When we filed a complaint to the bank, we discovered that the criminal activated the mobile app and monitored for transaction for months without the owners been aware, only to withdraw money immediately owners received some amount from customers.

See as police create duplicate units to tackle a common problem.

Protect yourself yo... Yahoo boys are now focusing on Nigerians.. Apparently Oyibo don dey wise..

You can start by scratching thoose three numbers at the back of your card..

Two.. Set a sim lock.

Three.. never keep 100% of your money in one bank (even yahoo boys dey work for banks these days)
I personally keep less than 5%... The rest are in crypto and USD and they are guarded with four factor authentication...

Na who no sabi hum left from him right yahoo boys dey rob..

I once had a case where my client money was pilfered over the weekend via online transaction. At the end of the investigation staff of one of the acclaimed reputable first generation banks was detained for almost a week for insider complicity and conspiracy.

Bank staffs too are Nigerians. Forget the shirt and tie they will help themselves to your money once they see such opportunity.

It is simple:
Have two or more accounts: Don't have an ATM card or internet banking on the account containing your major funds. While you can have ATM cards and internet banking on the others having marginal funds.
When you need to do big transactions from your major account, go physically to the banking hall, the cashiers will want to bully you into having ATM card and internet banking, insist you don't have a smart phone. They will do your transactions over the counter.
If they are obstinate, request to close the account and move your funds to another bank.
Never let them force or cajole you into doing internet banking and ATM card on your major account.

na my pattern be that o

Most banks are guilty of the connivance, I've only had experience with UBA and then, I took up the matter and they vomit my money.

The banks and tech firms who are suppose to be custodians of trust are very irresponsible with technology.
Security is the last thing on their mind. Bank charges and huge customer base drives them nut.

I have used ATM for more than a decade without losing a cent.Experience has also shown that most of the frauds are due to carelessness of card owners e.g Allowing strangers to help them at the ATM,the stranger then swaps their cards, leaving them with a dummy card, after a while, they start receiving debit alerts.Or divulging PIN and card details to fraudsters who pretend to be bank staff over the phone.Etc

Naija still dey learn work from USA, Pakistanis Russians etc.. But with the rate of advanced technology of the Western world.. Some of our yahoo guys deliberately make friends with bankers and those ones will do the job. Mind you. Those yahoo guys are based in here and they have the tools bought from the dark Web. So they just need an insider in the bank to release some accounts for them and they will. Do the rest. Its that simple.. We are to just be careful and smart too.. Those guys ar now coming home to steal, kill and destroy since its not rosy at all from abroad with covid and advance security of banks over there..
Our banks instead of paying their staffs and iCt well.. They put them under contract... Who does that??

The main account where you keep your money do not request for atm use mobile or internet banking and transfer to secondary accounts you use ATM

Deepweb gang, Chinese full there too. I think the authority concerned should ban Tor browser, it's used for crimes.

Meanwhile i build secure websites and I'm based IN abuja.

Na crypto fraud sure pass. Blockchain and some crypto wallets that use phrases can be easily hacked nowadays. My trust wallet was hacked this September and I was in shambles. Luno and dapp are the best.
