Guess you're not in Nigeria hence you would have known by now that people hardly talk about IVF/ICSI and other assisted reproductory technology publicly. Don't know why IVF is still a hush hush thing here in Nigeria. People have this mentality that your child is looked down on if they knew it was conceived via IVF. And so my dear, you will hardly find people who are ready to discuss their IVF ordeal. The annoying aspect of it is that, even when you catch your friends in IVF centers here, most of them still deny its IVF they went there for except when they are sure you also went there for same reasons.
Here they use Humog for stimulation, pregnyl for ovulation triggering and cyclogest after ET. I doubt if they do belly injections here. My experience in 2 different centers was stimulating inj on the bum. I wish you all the best.
Each to its own.Ild suggest maybe it’s more the need for privacy not necessarily a hush hush thing and iv never seen a child looked down upon for being born through a procedure which God blessed man with the knowledge of.If someone feels the need to deny then it’s on them.
This is my last trial and am using donor egg this time and straight off to adoption.Iv come to try in Abuja and doing injections.A day before embryo transfer I started prognova and the messy cyclogest progesterone pessaries vaginally ,predisolone and aspirin i was also give Gestone intramuscular injection which is progesterone in oil to support it 48hourly it’s honestly the most painful needle you’ve ever had.The only difference is these medications cost a bit more so various Doctors offer options.

You're right ma'am.

We have IVF conventional and IVF ICSI. Hubby sperm count will determine the one doctor will use for IVF.

From experience, I used IVF ICSI because my hubby sperm count was 600thousand even though some medicine was given to him before my IVF procedure but the test result that was carried out four days before retrieval shows that his sperm count was 600thousand.

The only difference is that in Ivf the sperm and egg are put in the dish to fertilise while in ICSI the sperm is injected directly into the egg.So yes sperm count can qualify as they need a little help but sometimes the eggs are not friendly too so they are “forced” to merge through the process.
Have you been successful thus far in your quest?.

Yes Ma'am. My baby boy is 8month plus but want to embark on another one in January.

I started the procedure in December but stopped because I missed two days injection.

I responded late but I just want to say your assessment of this hospital is on point! I had a horrible experience with them too. The nurses and doctors rarely gave out details. When u ask the will refer you to Dr. Kingswill himself. It's frustrating trying to follow up your treatment and protocol

Plus a blastocyst is Day 5 and are best quality why didn’t they do the transfer on Day 3 when there were more eggs like is common practice and give the embryo the chance to fight for themselves in a natural environment?.I feel this couple need to write a letter of complaint to the hospital director.

Amen. I used one ovary for the IVF procedure because the second ovary was cut off during fibroid operation.

I pray this one works for you. Be positive Sis. Also consider surrogacy before adoption except of course your hubby prefers adoption. From experience adoption is not also easy in Nigeria due to abuse but surrogacy the child is still yours. Gone are the days when people worry over what will they say since they didn't see me with any pregnancy. If you have done ivf severally with no known issue of what the cause cod be, pls consider surro. A lot of people have given this a trial and it worked for them. If your fear is what will people say, then fear no further as moonbump and jiji has com to your aid undecided undecided undecided undecided. But i ernestly pray this last one will be successful by God's grace. All the best

Thank you for your kind words.I had a success in 2017/18 but the girls came too early and did make it up to a year so iv felt the brief joy of motherhood.Ild rather adoption than surrogacy just a personal choice.Iv done the research and it’s a 3-6 months process, the only challenge is the DNA testing so ild apply to my council in London for family court to lease with the lawyers and reference and leave me out of it.It’s perfectly legal but ild have to pay here and family court abroad too.
Gestational surrogacy is mad expensive ranging from 3-15m and not even 100% guarantee plus too many things can go wrong if it’s a silly hospital.

helo Thankd for your response, I have endometriosis and have been trying for a little over 2years. Do you think having a laparoscopic surgery is better or go for ivf?

IVF RESULTS ARE poor with endometriesis, best you try handling the endo first
laproscopy helps to scrap off the endo tissues, but it tends to grow back after a while if preggy doesnt occur.

endo is routinely diagnoised in ttc women, my dw was diagnoised of endo by 1 doc a while back, but today is a proud mom.

eat lots of soursop, avocado pear and castor oil massage. you will overcome

If your endometriosis is at stage 4 where you have scars and adhesions and fused round other organs it’s best to have the surgery preferably laser not invasive but bare in mind each time to have a surgery your ovarian count drastically reduces. They do grow back quite quickly and sadly there is no cure just management so treatment has to be within 3months.Some good news chin up as lots of endo sufferers have success baby stories.

Ok never knew u were not based in Nigeria cos adoption in Lag is somethg else. If its 3-6 months in ur location then its worth giving it a try. Moreover those in diaspora seem to be more lucky with adopting here than the locals probably due to abuse. I wish u all the best in your sojourn.

I agree with you those in diaspora seem to be more lucky but this is only because more checks are carried out.

GRABBO is one of the most incompetent clinic i have ever visited . I remember i chatted and called their staff for information on how long the test will take so I can prepare myself financially and also to give my husband adequate information so he will know how many days to take off work. I was told d result will b out in 2-3days max . I and my DH went to abuja just to be told d result will take 6 day . I was there just in their accommodation waiting for just a single prolactin result to be out . Result dat can be gotten in max 2 days back to my residence. I couldn't start the ivf in dat Aug . So I came back to place of residence.
Went back to abuja again when I saw my period dat same day I booked my flight so I can be at d clinic d next day . On getting to the hospital I met a Dr that was telling mi oh u shouldnot have come we are no longer taking ivf patients for this time till jan cos we will b closing for the year in dec . I am like how is dat possible that has a patient I wasnot informed dat dey closing for Dec or so Dont they have a database the share adequate information with their patients. Then I told her I cannot go back to lagos again dis is my second visit .I paid 53,000 for one way to come to abuja.
She now told mi she will ve to speak with deir CMD DR Kate and plead if dey can take it as if dey were doing mi a favour and I didnot pay . I didnot say anytin . Den she went out called and said ok I can start cos I will finish my cycle before dey close for the year.
Ok this is now the real story
GRABBO NEVER TELL YOU ANY ADEQUATE INFORMATION . EG HOW MANY EGGS U GOT, WHAT IS UR GRADE OF EGGS , IF YOU HAVE A LOT OF EGGS, IF U WILL LIKE TO FREEZE . HOW WAS YOUR LINING BEFORE TRANSFER, WHEN U NOW DECIDE TO ASK THEM . THEY WILL NOT ANSWER U, ALL DEY WILL SAY IS ITS OK . THE NURSES WERE NOT NICE AND READY TO PROVIDE INFO SINCE IT WAS MY FIRST TIME .JUST A FEW WERE FRIENDLY.
THE DR WILL COME TO THE RETRIVAL ROOM AND BONE HER FACE .YOU WILL GREET HER AND SHE WILL ANSWER YOU COLDLY. MADAM IVF IS ALREADY A STRESSFUL JOURNEY . WE NEED U TO BE NICE AND APPROACHABLE.
AFTER TRANSFER NO ONE EVER BOTHER TO CHECK ON YOU. WHICH DAT ONE IS OK . THE DATE OF TESTING . RESULT CAME OUT NEGATIVE, ( SAD FACE),WELL I WAS AWARE IVF IS NOT 100% THAT WAS WHY I PAID FOR 3 CYCLES. I NOW CALLED DR KATE TO REVIEW MY TEST JUST TO KNOW IF I CAN WORK TOWARDS MY SECOND CYCLE . AS USUAL SHE SOUNDED VERY COLD AND NOT APPROACHABLE. NOT EVEN A SINGLE SIGN OF EMPATHY AND EVEN AS A WOMAN TO WOMAN SHE SHOULD VE EVEN ENCOURAGE ME TO B STRONG AND TRY AGAIN HER NEXT WORD WAS HOW MANY CYCLE DID U PAY FOR I TOLD HER 3 D NEXT THING IS OK COME NEXT YEAR. DAT WAS ALL FROM A DR DAT UNDERSTAND WHAT A WOMAN PASSES THROUGH TO HAVE A CHILD .
IN ALL SINCERELY NOT COS OF THE BFN I HAD . BUT GOING TO GRABBO WAS A TERRIBLE CHOICE COS OF MY EXPERIENCE WITH D DR'S AND NURSE AND DEY NEED TO DO BETTER. ITS BEING ON PROMO SHOULDNOT MAKE THE PATIENT COMING TO THIER CLINIC TO FEEL LESS OF THEMSELVES. ALL THEY SELL IS JUST A BEAUTIFUL BUILDING AND ZERO MEDICAL PRACTICE ANd EMPATHY .
I WILL BE GOING BACK NEXT YEAR COS I VE PAID FOR A 3 CYCLE AND I CANNOT AFFORD TO LET GO OF THE BALANCE WHICH I WISH I CAN. I PRAY MY SECOND CYCLE IS A SUCCESS AND I PRAY THEY IMPROVE ON THEIR CUSTOMER- CLIENT RELATIONSHIPS.

I’m so sorry this happened to you and wish there was a medical regulatory body or a functional public complaint commission you could report to.Medical practitioners should meet patients in the middle and carry them amongst the journey not be stuck up as if they doing a favour. What happened to being patient centred and including your clients in every step.Something as small as a smile and a reassuring tap on the shoulder goes a long way.I pray your next cycle is successful.

Very sorry ma'am for the experience. I have strong believe that the next cycle result will be multiple.

My believe for you is that, even if people are getting negative, yours will be positive.

During my first procedure with Kingswill, I was scared of using the place because all the people I saw using own egg are getting negative results but I just made up my mind that even if everyone is getting negative my will be positive.

Despite the fact that only one good embryo was transferred with the second one bad. I still get my positive even though I saw blood for more than two month and the boy is 8month plus now.

My sister, you're still coming here to share your own testimony in 2021.

Congratulations in advance ma'am.

this is the real picture of Grabbo, once u pay like this they will start showing their true colour and when u have a bfn, the doctor will be sounding as if u r disturbing and bothering her. I recently circled with them and all ,I mean all what u described here happened. I told the sonograher on day 6 stim scan to tell me how I'm responding ,he said he can't tell me anything , the doctor herself did the last scan on day 10 stim ,I expected her to at least tell me some things but she said nothing. I couldn't bear the nonsense again and I had to tell them to tell me my statistics on transfer day, so they now told me eggs retrieved, how many fertilized, how many made it to day 5, how many they will transfer. I met a lady there, she told me later on that she didn't even know any of these things during the procedure cos they didn't tell her but she was successful anyway but later had miscarriage. besides if u have serious medical issues like endometriosis ,don't even bother going there cos they don't know how to manage it in ivf. they follow normal ivf protocol for everybody which will never work out for someone with endo
their success rate is high to be honest but they need to work on their relationship with customers
mama I pray that your next procedure will be a success in Jesus name

this is the real picture of Grabbo, once u pay like this they will start showing their true colour and when u have a bfn, the doctor will be sounding as if u r disturbing and bothering her.
Hmmmm

God will save us but very annoying

Thank you for your kind words . Amen
DAT WAS ALL FROM A DR DAT UNDERSTAND WHAT A WOMAN PASSES THROUGH TO HAVE A CHILD .
this is very bad
I wish they have suggestion box you can drop your suggestion. it will surely end in praises amen

This comes as a shocker..she is usually nice. This encounter maybe due to the fact that she was overwhelmed that day..she is the only doctor on ground for the procedures and it can be tiring..sorry for this experience. I have spoken to her and she wants to review your file. Kindly pm me with your details and she will call you. Thanks.

Akuko! Because her matter don enter NL grammer don change to overwhelmed ...@lilsyd let's call a spade a spade TTC is draining enough and not after coughing out such amount for a procedure that wasn't + then d Dr would be giving his/her patient attitude....I believe you're the front desk staff you want to cover up for grabbo.Overwhelmed indeed.

You are entitled to your beliefs ma. I have cycled with her and it was a different experience thus the shock. But thanks for your input. Regards

Hmm. so they(GRABBO) can review a patient file ehn? After my first failed circle, nothing was said about what most have gone wrong or for some test to be carried out. Now the 2nd cycle also failed after staying back in Abuja for 33days, i went to the hospital after doing pt. I was told to pay for a blood test which i did. My file was not even brought out.It was the paper that showed the negative result the Dr i met wrote on.

I wasn't told anything whatsoever during my first cycle. Dr Kate does scan on day 10 and will keep mute about the result, you will ask a nurse about your progress and she will tell you categorically that they dont tell patients their result. It was on the day of the transfer of the 2nd cycle i was told how many fertilized eggs i had. Let grabbo stop treating patients as statistics but as people.
