Average oil price for Jonathan was $100 Buhari is $40

If Buhari has the kind of money that Jonathan had and Nigeria economy is still like this under him, I would have cursed his generation since a long time ago.

Nigeria's problem is over dependent on oil, it's the source of 90% of our revenue but hypocrisy would not let many people acknowledge that fact.
The same argument can also be made for loans. Buhari's loans have more than doubled that of Jonathan while he has more than doubled fuel price, electricity tariff and VAT. So if Jonathan refurbished narrow gauge and built Abuja-Kaduna, why has Buhari not done more?

Guy Nigeria's budget in 2014 was 4.9 trillion, Buhari collected 2.5 trillion for train. So U want GEJ to spend 2.5 trillion on train alone? What are you saying? If U talking about diversifying economy I will hear not using half of the budget on train.

Even with that, GEJ still had a railway project ongoing in his time.

Off topic.

The topic is FLASHBACK. Nigeria’s Economy Can’t Support New Trains. Doyin Okupe

Learn how to read, comprehend and follow simple internet discussion.

Today, Nigeria built Lagos Ibadan railway and supplied it with new trains, they did nit say you as a Nigerian don't deserve new trains because our economy can not support new trains while looting and sharing $2.3 aka DASUKU ATM, money that was more than enough to build 2 Lagos Ibadan railway without borrowing 1 kobo from anywhere.
Unfortunately, the aim of the topic was to troll and have a good laugh. But instead you're having to sweat under your armpit.
Let's stick to the topic. The topic is new trains in narrow gauge. When will Buhari but new trains in narrow gauges and get PH-Maiduguri narrow gauge working?

Keep your ignorant and derailing rubbish to yourself, the topic is not narrow gauge, it's ‘Nigeria’s economy can’t support new trains,’ Presidential aide says. And that's what the news article that I posted and started the topic with said, not narrow gauge.

This is how you and your kind fail WAEC. I know you and your kind and how you derail topics with ignorant, irrelevant and unrelated rants.

Go and start your own topic with narrow guage article to discuss.

At your old age, you can not read, you can not comprehend or follow simple internet discussion.

How sad and pathetic can you get.

When this mab made the statement, oil was selling for $100/barrel.

Fast forward to 2020 with oil is selling for as low as $30, we built new 156km railway from scratch with new trains.
So did we single handedly finance the rail project?

Nigeria made over N51 Trillion under GEJ, more than any president in the history of Nigeria so please explain to us why they couldn't built Lagos Ibadan railway with new trains since they had enough money and didn't have to borrow 1 kobo?

The $2.3 billion GEK and Okonjo stole and gave to Dasuki to share with their crooked and corrupt cronies was more than enough to build 2, I repeat, 2 Lagos Ibadan Railway without borrowing 1 kobo.

Btw, was GEJ not borrowing hundreds of billions every month to pay workers salary till his last week in office?

It is not by force to comment, some of you need to learn how to keep quiet sometimes.

I hope and pray that people like you are not allowed anywhere near any seat of government or decision making body because you
Gej govt made 51trillion naira...
This lie can be equate with the lies that buhari constructed all the refineries in nigeria while he was the head of the military junta.
Lies of hypocritical proportion.

Off topic, I don't remember saying that or making how any project was financed the topic of discussion so of what relevance is this to the topic or my assertions in this thread.

If you are going to question me about anything, do soo based on what I said and not whatever rubbish you want to talk about or derail with.

What's next? Are you going to ask me why the sky is blue?

Nigeria's economy couldn't support new trains but it could support the massive embezzlement and looting that characterized Jonathan's administration and PDP in general. If Nigeria has been on a steady growth with critical infrastructures like this, the country would have made significant progress.

Calm down.

You're beginning to sound frustrated.

As you rightly said, the presidential aide said Nigeria can't afford new trains which was a silly thing to say. It's just one of the many gaffes common with presidential spokesmen.

One said people should give up their lands for herdsmen recently. Another more garrulous one said farmers killed by BH did not have clearance before going to farms and even did a bigger one by putting the figure of abducted kankara boys at 10.

But these gaffes doesn't mean we should lose our senses.

First, Nigerian govt as presently run can't afford to build rails and buy trains all by itself. This is why every rail project is usually tied to a loan.

But that particular rehabilitation was done without any loan incurred. Instead it was NRC engineers that were engaged to get the rails working. This feat should actually be celebrated as a sign of local technology development.

But politics came in and the spokesman was baited with that question which he fell for.

If you were a patriot as your moniker claims, you'll celebrate the NRC engineers who got the trains working out of the budget with no extra cost to the nation or indebtedness.

But instead, you choose to celebrate a "new" rail built by Chinese engineers at a cost determined by Chinese banks to be paid from our revenue simply because it gives the govt in your preferred political circle some latitude even if superficial.

It's that hypocrisy that is gnawing away at your soul and leaving you wretched and wasted.

You need to heal bro. You need to.
