Electoral matters are civil matters which are statute barred. In effect, you can't use 2016 matter to fight 2019 case. As long as he did not present the 2016 result in 2019, the issue is dead as dodo. That's given that I'm assuming your info is correct in the first place.
Secondly, again, whether he was given his bsc under one year no concern the court. That has nothing to do with forgery. That matter can be taken to a regular court for UI to explain why he graduated in three years but that is irrelevant in this matter.
In the case of Lyon's deputy, his problem was that the certificates he tendered all carried different versions of his names. It's what the court banked on to declare a forgery not even the authenticity or otherwise of the certs.
I hope you can spot the difference.

1. His original NYSC certificate had his name misspelt. I think "Obasek" instead of "Obaseki"

2. He applied for a new certificate from the Corp recently to have the name corrected. This was done bearing the same details as the last one but with the name corrected.

3. The issue raised was how a long outgone(probably dead) 1979 commandant can sign a reissued 2019 certificate. This was the alleged forgery.

The time spent in school, grade etc has no impact since they are the same on both certificates.

It is not for any authority to declare a certificate unknown in Nigeria apart from NUC. If UI ran an accredited course, with a 3years duration and a hitherto unknown name, so be it.

Court cases like this are comedies in Nigeria sha. We will sit and watch the result.

Good analysis. Don't mind the zombie crew. This is a very watery case. UI have come out to say the certificate is from them. So what exactly is the noise about? Oshiomole who himself never attended university is now the deciding authority on whether a university was right to have admitted a student or not. Can anyone beat that?

PDP in bayelsa actually did an awful lot to establish forgery. Even to the extent of establishing that the notary public officer who signed degi's affidavit has no powers to do so.
That's besides the glaring "chameleonic" change of name with full respect to the learned jurist.
As for his lawyers, they are being heavily paid to object and worry and tear their faces in court.
It will form part of their appeal if any abracadabra happens.

Any governor would have been okay.

Obaseki won in Edo State with a landslide.
He is overwhelmingly the choice of the people.

APC should be careful not to tamper with that.
