BS! BS!! BS!!!

Please Ignore any typographical or grammatical errors o, thank you.

I got pregnant in January, it was a very easy one no MS, appetite was cool and all, as a FTM I guess I didn't know I was supposed to be a bit more careful as the pregnancy was still in the early stage, I kept going full throttle, my job is a stressful one and I kept doing it head on! Long story short, we were doing rearrangement in the office in March, and I decided to join in lifting a big table, I felt pain instantly, started feeling period cramps, bleeding started the next day and I lost the pregnancy cry. It was depressing, painful, I felt I had failed my child, couldn't stop crying, lost interest in my job and all.

Fast forward to April, I didn't see my period, I thought sth was wrong, my husband said I didn't drink uda peppersoup and all after the MC, and so my uterus wasn't properly flushed, I kept feeling bites in my lower stomach, my husband went out to buy the peppersoup items for the womb flushing, I told him to buy test strip for me to check if it could be pregnancy, low and behold it was two strong lines.

First trimester came with the worst package ever, I couldn't eat, drink, couldn't even brush my teeth without throwing up. The only thing my body accepted was hollandia plain yoghurt, so I kept on taking that to keep me going, while also taking my prenatals. I lost weight drastically - about 10kg. I felt so dizzy when moving about - like I would collapse, the stomach pain was actually very bad at some point and I decided to go for a private scan to find out if all is well - the scan result said the pregnancy wasn't viable and it was a missed abortion. The scan also detected fibroid. I came home and cried my heart out, told my mum about it and she suggested I get a second opinion. I went to another scan centre, low and behold my baby girl was jejely resting and I heard her heartbeat. When I got to the 3 month mark, registered for antenatal at general hospital.

Second trimester came and there was very little improvement in my health, I was still throwing up, my body then grew to accepting rice - every other thing must be vomited, so I ate all kinds of rice (lol). I then decided to register for antenatal in a private hospital for more personalised care, as everyone was worried about my situation. The private hospital ran my blood and all and then called to give me a bad report - that the pregnancy wouldn't be sustainable because my blood level was extremely low, I should come and discuss my options with them - I refused going back there. I went for a scan, was told that baby was growing fine, I became more confident. I started doing stuffs to boost my blood and the blood vehemently refused to be boosted so I accepted my fate

Third trimester was the easiest for me, at a point I became scared when I read what other mom's were passing through, and I was feeling none of that. No pelvic pain, no constipation, no waddling, only thing was that I was always fatigued. My appetite improved too so I tried to make up for lost times. I wasn't feeling any sign of labour and I was so worried, hospital scheduled me for induction on Monday morning, the 28th of December as I had passed my EDD. I went to the hospital that morning and was told to come back the next day - Tuesday as Monday was Public holiday. I didn't know my baby girl didn't want anyone to stress her with inducement, she wanted to come by herself cool.

Labour started that same Monday afternoon, around 3pm, I was pre advised by my seniors in the game not to rush to the hospital so they won't be chooking hand in my vagina anyhow (lol), so I decided to time the contractions and do light movements. Eventually went to the hospital around 8pm, was 3cm when checked, baby came out around 2am shouting so loudly, and I was given a tear and stitched. Motherhood is a wonderful experience, I pray every expectant and TTC mother's be blessed with this experience.

BS part 1
I didn't plan this pregnancy grin grin grin grin

My BS will include both my pre pregnancy/TTC history and After delivery care . So it'll be very long and will come in batches.

Part 1 (History)
In 2008 I started noticing my flow getting heavier and id occasionally get stained but I didn't know there was a problem and I just assumed it was because I was adding a little weight after NYSC. But one day in 2010 I had really bad pains that prompted my visit to the hospital. Actually, my period for that month was late and with the pains I had I thought I was pregnant...but I was in school in the US on a scholarship so the thought of pregnancy freaked me out mehn. Saw the doctor and after tests and scans were done , the diagnosis came back as fibroids....I heaved a sigh of relief i wasn't pregnant! But ha, fibroids

I was counselled and given 4 options to choose from...
Option 1: Do nothing...since I wasn't married or ready to get pregnant I was just supposed to do occasional scans to monitor the growth of the fibroids.
Option 2: Take injection to shrink the fibroids...but that's only recommended before surgery as the shrinkage is only momentarily.
Option 3: A myomectomy...with the possibility of a regrowth if pregnancy isn't achieved soon afterwards
Option 4: Hysterectomy: i told the doctor God forbid when she mentioned this. Told her I plan to have kids so this wasn't an option for me at all.

So, I went with option 1. But I stupidly bought one "fibroid shrinking" supplement..cost me 100 dollars of my student allowee only  brokedown the fibroids into plenty nodules.

From 2010 to 2013 I did a complete lifestyle change...stayed away from Carbs, sugar/fizzy drinks, alcohol etc....and I was doing occasional scans to monitor the growth of the fibroids and apart from very heavy bleeds during my period, I didn't have any other issues. But everytime the doctors asked same question....when are you getting married so you can take these things out?

Well, I got married in 2013 and although the plan was to wait one year before trying to get pregnant we had planned to do a myomectomy during the 1 Yr wait period. 2 months after the wedding and when we scheduled to have a pre surgery HSG done, the doctor gave me a drug (tranxemic acid i think) to reduce my bleeding cos by this time my bleed days during my period were between 7-15days and HSG can't be done during bleeding.

That was how I started waiting for the period to stop....5th day 6th....by the 10th day I had to inform the doctor that it hadn't stopped and he just said to wait it out. To cut the long story short, that bleeding lasted for 6 freaking months nonstop!! In between I was given all sorts of drugs/injections to try and stop the bleeding and my pcv was checked monthly but thank God my blood level was ok.

By the 3rd month, I was referred to another hospital/consultant and he said the solution was an injection that will be administered once monthly for 3 months and each shot was 75k.( Same fibroid shrinking injection as option 2)

Thankfully on the 6th month the bleeding stopped, HSG(revealed both tubes were blocked by the fibroids) and myomectomy was performed and about 30 nodules were taken out. We decided not to tell our families about the surgery (told my folks after the surgery but my inlaws weren't told at all) cos you know how Nigerian extended family can like to pressure newly weds.

I was quite active in the TTC thread post surgery. I put myself under a lot of pressure because I was scared of the fibroids regrowth if pregnancy isn't achieved immediately. I tried all sorts but long story short after 3 HSGs, follicle stimulations with Clomid/femara/letrozole and trigger shots, plenty supplements and a failed IUI I decided to try and lose some weight in preparation for IVF in April 2016. December 2015, 1yr and 6months after the myomectomy i was confirmed pregnant.

That pregnancy till the end was very stressfree...no ms, no pains, no hemorrhoids nothing.  I didn't even feel pregnant at all and the delivery was taken at 37weeks due to the myomectomy.

Hubby and I decided we'd have a 3-4yr spacing between our kids cos of the nature of my job ( I didn't work all through my pregnancy and 6 months after delivery)...I needed to get my career back on track before taking another 1yr break. I tried IUD twice and they failed both times so we just stuck with Billings method +withdrawal+ morning after pill and we had a clean sheet (although I doubt i ovulate on my own).

I decided to try and get pregnant this year so in January I went back to the TTC thread to read the steps prior to my first conception. I went to the hospital to run tests for infection and took antibiotics..I joined the gym to resume exercising, got the supplements I used to lose weight (it contains inositol which is good for women with pcos and difficulty ovulating on their own), did my juice detox and started folic acid. My DH was on supplements too and fruit juices (watermelon/pineapple) but he was away at work in another state.

He returned home some days before the lockdown, my period started on 28th March, lockdown 29th March. We were BDing every other day after my period ended and it was mostly for fun...no stress or ovulation tracking etc. The plan was to try for 6 months and if nothing happens we'd go see a doctor cos I'm above 35yrs. Some days to my expected period i started feeling cramps and because I didn't see any ewcm i assumed i didn't ovulate and started planning for the next cycle so you'd imagine my surprise when I missed my period and peed on a stick and saw 2 lines.

Hello all....My wife is four month pregnant.. The doctor recommended Pregnacare which I got from the Hospital pharmacy.. I was expecting the normal Pregnacare we all know that has a picture of a pregnant woman.... But I was given a counting drug(brown in colour and round)I asked the Doc and he said is also prsgnacare(my bad was actually not checking the content of the drug when I looked at the container the drug was gotten from) but I saw for Pregnancy and lactation or so.. Please what do you guys advice should I get the 'real' Pregnacare and if yes what type cause it seems to come in different forms.

Most pregnancy drugs are for pre, during, and post pregnancy so it's okay if the drug said pregnacy and lactation.

Awaiting part 2 please

Happy New Year everyone! I know I made my announcement and disappeared. I am happy to say I'm in my 5th month currently with my third and last baby. Thank g-d all is going well. I was very sick up untill week 17, but have began to feel better. At age 42 carrying a baby is much different than in my earlier pregnancies but G-d is good. I hope this post will be an encouragement to all the older mom's out there our G-d is able. We are so excited and eagerly awaiting the safe and healthy arrival of our baby boy.

Sending love to you all!

Does anyone else find it weird when watsapp people buzz you to tell you you look preggy?. I mean you ignore all other status to tell me that?. How do you respond to that pls I just feel it’s a private/delicate journey not many people need to know about. How do you respond to these foolish questions
