Well, before we dive right into the topic, what is Personality?

Personality has to do with everything that makes an individual who they are. It compounds from the little daily activities into habits before transitioning to the full Personality of which the individual is an embodiment of. Though marijuana consumption has remained banned in Nigeria, it hasn't stopped people from other places from commercialising it, especially the medicinal and recreational part.

Though much of the non-marijuana smoking population sees the herb as something that is probably not good for you, those who consume it will beg to disagree. This has also led to a lack of medical consensus on weed usage and how it affects Personality of its consumers. However, one thing that is medically agreeable all over the world is that weed has too many medicinal purposes and uses.

That notwithstanding, this are some of the noticeable things most marijuana smokers can relate to once they started consuming the herb:

1) Marijuana will alter your perception of time and reality. This is mostly as a result of the THC being introduced into the bloodstream. THC is the chemical compound that creates the highness in marijuana once it is heated up or burnt.

2) A friend once told me that marijuana sort of amplifies his mood each time he consumes it. When i probed further, he stated that he always feels elated when high, and that whatever mood he is in that moment, gets amplified. When i questioned about 'bad moods', he told me 'not while I'm high'.

3) On the bad side, i have also noticed that marijuana use makes people with light head lose coordination. A man i know will always start rapping Notorious B.I.G song when he has taken marijuana. He normally doesn't do that. But, i guess somehow, the marijuana helps him re-live some of his coolest moments from time past.

When i imagine it, i always think about how the arguments with Tupac fans must have been in those days. He is definitely a B.I.G fan.

4) During my service year, there is a friend that i often laugh at once he is high. The dude sort of loses coordination and balance whenever he is on the influence.

Sometimes, his staggered steps are a beauty to behold. Did i forget to mention the long hours of sleep that follows suit afterwards? Or the insane talks that emerges from him afterwards once we decide to engage him in talks? Now i have done it.

5) Smoking Marijuana will also make your eyes red, probably for about 3 - 7 hrs until the THC has weaned off the bloodstream. According to studies, THC gets washed down after about 3 - 7hrs, and the highness will subside.

6) Also, smoking marijuana has been noted to make people believe that they can probably do anything.
However, some people usually overestimate their own abilities when under the influence. Hence, most people may drift into a fool's paradise under the influence, with the inability to decipher between reality and their own personal capacity.

7) I once went to take a drink at a joint and sat near this man. Obviously, he has been high all day, but he was still looking for more high with a bottle of an alcoholic drink with high alcohol percentage.

Well, it wasn't long before the man started making speeches about fishes having doctors and nurses inside the ocean. He even said the fishes have emergency service that helps injured fishes get immediate medical attention inside the water.

Yeah, i forgot to add, marijuana can also make you speak garbage!

So, does Marijuana Change Your Personality? I like to think that it does. However, what i also believe is that it can't make you do what you are already not capable of doing. Don't mind the naysayers! As a wise man once said, "if e no good for your head, Quit!".

My advice to any smoker or intending smoker, don't smoke cigarettes, don't smoke under the sun, if you're smoking at a friends place without taking your bath get a nice cognac and apply to your cloth, it's not nice to be smelling smoke, when you smoke at night brush your mouth before going to bed. Always make provision for a lot of foods and soft drinks after smoking, cause smoking make you have an appetite twice as your usual appetite. Most marijuana smokers that lose weight don't eat after smoking and it's not healthy. Finally smoke with people with sense or smoke alone

M.J motivates the morale of a smoker if taken rightly & not abused. It can make someone to think the "impossible" can be "possible" & that's a good thing.
Before I incorporated my company and got it registered with a multinational as a vendor/supplier, I used to think that was an impossible task given the fact that I was already 3 years in the labour market, I had no cash, no godfather, no connections & I was already tired of job hunting.
What I did was locking up myself in my room, all I had was my kush, my pen, some good rap music "Apollo Brown mixtape", a new notebook to write down my strategies & ideas after smoking some good weed.
Ideas started flowing in. Ideas on how to source for cash, ideas on how to go about the hectic registration process, ideas on how to approach the right people for assistance & ideas on how to be courageous. Gaining access to the premises of a multinational company is almost impossible if you are not a staff or have a gate pass I.D card. However, I was able to break that barrier after approaching a casual worker at the company's gate one evening after the close of work, I took him to a bar close by, bought us some drinks/meat & while we were drinking, I told him about my plans and how I needed his help in gaining access to the premises to go source for contracts. we vibed somuch that evening due to my good sense of humor. He agreed to help by talking to his supervisor to include my name in their list of casual workers to check-in every 6:00am every morning & to checkout at 4:00pm.
That was how I started accessing the premises. Weed also gave me the boldness & tactics on how to approach senior heads of departments for contracts. It wasn't easy at all as they kept saying 'no' but I never gave up. It took me a while before I finally got my big break. Ever since then, my life changed.

THE POSITIVE SIDES: Weed can bring out the creative side of anyone who uses it correctly. Most CEOs/world leaders started their carriers on kush.Eg Ted Turner(CNN), Barrack Obama, Jeff Bezoz & a host of others. (YOUR MENTOR MIGHT BE A CLOSET STONER).

THE NEGATIVE SIDE: It can be so addictive. After achieving a milestone of my dreams, I found my self smoking weed on a regular basis. I couldn't control it anymore because I was using it to hide my anxiety, fears, bad days, the rejections I faced & all.
It took the grace of God & my determination to bring it back under control.

THE BOTTOM LINE IS: Always know what works for you. As "Sample Ekwe" sang in his song, IF E GOOD FOR YOUR BRAIN, 'SMOKE'. IF E NO GOOD FOR YOUR BRAIN, 'QUIT'.

Damn! This is really insightful. I always knew that weed magnifies personality and creativity if properly applied.

On that number 6, we are both saying the same thing. Weed may have helped you tap into that inner part of you. But, it was because you already have it in you. If you didn't, it wouldn't put what wasn't there in the first place. You have already identified something to channel your mind, and those things required a push to manifest.

Marijuana is a natural plant that contains THC which gives the psychotic effect individuals usually experience.

I agree with a change of personality. If you're the type who's always in haste, suffering from anxiety or anything at all, marijuana will make you calmer, easy going.

If you're always moody, pessimistic, angry, depressed, weed will improve your mood and make you happier.

The most important thing about weed is the change of perception.

People who smoke weed aren't running from their problem. Most people smoke to get a fresh perception of their problems.

I've found countless solutions to my problems when high. At that state, I'm more objective and unbiased.

Who wouldn't want such a better personality?

My greatest of work as a writer and entrepreneur came while stoned. Before you give up on weed, give it a try and stop limiting yourself by fear or people like op.
