It's deep depressing reading comments supporting this barbaric act and such like it.
You don't have to like dreads, etc. to know this is a complete violation of citizens' fundamental human rights.

Such sorry comments empower tyrants, bullies, depravation of freedom and fundamental human rights . . . y'all 'll get yours someday . . . you don't have to have dreads for the monsters y'all cheering for to get y'all.

Well... Minus the despicable abuse of his civil rights by flogging him, they did a near fine job on the hair... Literally made a gentleman out of the bloke. cry

The way you dress is the way you will be addressed. You look nice in your new haircut. Besides, it will save you some money and the stress involved in maintaining the dreadlocks. Till the end of time, if you cut your hair this way, nobody will ever see you in your car and stop you. Decent haircut is the lesson learnt. Nice lesson!!!

Wearing dreads should not give any personnel reason to shave any Nigerian citizen for any reason but honestly whenever I see a person with dreads I subconsciously think you are irresponsible and he was using the same hair to do end police brutality.

Change your thinking... There are CEOs and billionaires with tattoos that are more responsible than your pastors or imams.

No offence intended

It's funny seeing comments saying "The haircut is nice", "The soldier did a good job" "he did him a favor".
The funny thing is that these same people making such comments are also those clamoring for a change in Nigeria. They're part of those complaining about being oppressed by the government and police. But see them now.
It's because they're not at the receiving end. In Nigeria, "if e never happen to you, e no concern you". That's the mentality. Untill a soldier humiliates your brother, sister, child, that's where we'll see you crying and complaining.
No wahala sha.
This oppression will definitely go round. It's enough to go round.

Condem the act as bad and unnecessary and move on. All these trying to compare Nigeria with America is childish.

Do you know that the kinds of things that you will get away with dealing with Nigerian policemen will easily get you shot and killed with American police officers.

There are bad and wrong all over the world not just Nigeria.

What they did is wrong and should be identified and punished for it. Simple.

Yes there are bad people everywhere but what you will never see is a U.S soldier or police doing that and getting away with it. He'll spend years in jail. In Nigeria, nothing will happen. Its not that it cannot happen anywhere else but in a normal country there are consequences.

Obviously you have no clue about what you are talking about.

As a matter of fact the US is the worst when it comes to officers getting away with crimes.

A US police officer will shoot you in your own house while sleeping and they will still blame you and get away with it.
Only if you know the amount of atrocities committed by US officers that are justified by the govt and the police gang that they call union.

Some people are mocking the guy simply because they don't like dreads.

Wait until it is your own turn to have your rights trampled upon. And then, people will laugh at you.

Maybe in your own case, you will be beaten for shaving your head too clean.

They seem movies but they are real lives snuffed out by cops - Breanna Taylor, George Floyd and countless others that were caught on camera. Now think of many others that were killed but were not caught on camera hence the police will just make up any story to cover their atrocities.

A police officer can shoot someone on Broadway on broad day light on camera and the police gang (union) will still find some dumb excuse to support the officer.
At least in Nigeria, once the case is open to the word they they will arrest the offending officers.

You are subconsciously judging someone's character based on their hair style? How would you feel if a fellow human being subconsciously think you are a thief because of the way you look or the color of your skin? Is that not the same rationale?

Freedom is not based on what you desire as a person. How has someone's hair style becomes a crime? Supporting this kind of backward behavior by Nigerian army is simply unfathomable.

Now it's hair style, later it'll become the food that you eat, the speech that comes out of your mouth, or something so absurd to justify their crime. Any Nigerian army that engaged in this kind of behavior is committing a crime against humanity.

Glad you gave examples of police violations in the U.S. you know about them because the police were held accountable. Breana Taylor's family are millionaires now which will never compensate for a life loss.
Remind me again what compensations Nigerians get for police brutality? If any. I'm waiting for your response sir.
