Yo are part of the problem. If you have tried to do this long go without waiting until it became compulsory, no one will extort you.
I did mine in 2014 at their main office after the one at the Secretariat were trying to extort me. Let's stop giving money to all this government officials and you'd see improvement in their performance.

Is happening in their Abuja office. It's now a business venture... You have to pay to obtain a form and also bribe yourself in....
Seriously we've messed up Nigeria

Sadly, this won’t deter them because there are people who are willing to compromise them so as to get their NIN sharply.

We all want a better Nigeria without trying to be better Nigerians. If things must work fine everywhere in Nigeria, we must all start behaving better. While we keep telling government officials to shun bribe taking, we must also tell Nigerians who are beneficiaries of government services to stop compromising government officials.
Oga this is a lie
Let govt officials keep rejecting bribe
Leave Nigerians alone
Once the culture is put in the govt officials mindset
The people will stop
Bribe only works when there are people to recurve it

Buhari govt & corruption is
like tuwo & miyan kuka...

Corruption is everywhere, but as
usual, the government if lies & hypocrisy
will deny it & pass the buck to GEJ.

I really don't know why it is easy to decieve Nigerians.

That letter was not addressed to anyone.

Just imagine, I came and told you that I bought you a piece of land in Maitama/ Banana Island without giving any address.

I always tell my close associates that if Nigeria is to change for the better, it's Nigerians we should pray for first to change. We have prayed enough for Nigeria!
Once Nigerians are right, Nigeria will be right.

There are willing receivers, there are willing givers. Nigerians are not known for having patience and at the same time, government can't deploy monitoring team to everywhere. If you don't give, if I don't give, won't all of us be attended to at the end of the day? Can they force money out of anyone? No. The willing givers are the major problem.

Oga leave the givers
I have been abroad
U don't dare offer bribe
If the reviewers shun it and do their job
Leave us alone
We will adjust
There are many people who don't take bribe in Nigeria
I have seen
So let the officials work on themselves
The news will spread and people will know they don't take

Nigeria!
A country of most corrupt people in the world.
Go to any registration center and see for yourself.
Those giving out money get out really quick with mission accomplished. But others who refuse to be corrupt, stay there for hours without being registered.

Yes people may be there to compromised them because they made it so. If they weren't collecting money people won't offer it to them. Who would want to make noise, even if you make the noise who would listen or hear you. All over the states they are collecting money. If the DG has discover it now then they should act. It is very annoying .

I don tire for this blind country.

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), on Thursday,
warned members of its staff cashing in amid the ongoing NIN registration nationwide to desist as they risk seven years in jail when caught.

The Honourable Minister, Dr. Isa Pantami has today directed the suspension of NIMC staff involved in extortion of applicants at its Bauchi and Kaduna State Offices.

Good, if they wanted to extort you 6/7 years ago, you can see greedy the officials are. Also not everybody would be able to visit their main office.

A serious government always when enacting a policy always put checks in place

These people behave as if they don't know the average Nigerian's mentality, like they don't mingle, relate at all with citizens

You increase petrol price or reduce it, agents should be dispatched to monitor fuel stations, same way other agents should monitor the agents previously deployed

You force Nigerians to do NIMC by force by fire agents should have been deployed to monitor registration centers, bad Nigerians will profit from the rush,

I kind of feel like this government never thinks anything through
Now this is a shocking volte face shocked

You are obviously naive and don't know what govt structure is. Can ordinary citizen make law and enforce it? Laws are there to checkmate such things and enforcement is also by the government. Take away law and enforcement in USA and it will turn to another corruption ground.

It is always about the government and never about the people doing the right thing. If government have to send agents to every single petrol station, NIMC registration center, Disco, Embassy, Immigration office, Custom office, FIRS office, etc before Nigerians can do things properly, something is definitely wrong somewhere.

See, the change we want begins with each and everyone of us. The government is a product of the society and a reflection of who we are as a people. If we want Nigeria to work, we the people of Nigeria must make it work and not the other way round.
even the agent will collect their own share from the agencies

You guys reason like goat in this country.

What details is capture in bvn that was not capture in sim registration, NIN, voters registration?
The only difference is that, the leaders are just so stupid not to create a general database to save these data that can easily be retreive when needed at ease.
