There is something I've come to realize, which I'm sure many others may also be aware of.

The majority of Nigerians clamouring to leave the country and migrate to the US, UK and Canada largely belong to the low- to mid-income group. Those who would find it difficult and unusual to say... procure a solar-powered solution to meet their home power shortage needs (I'm just using this as an example o! Bikokwa).

Really wealthy individuals such as successful business-people, private equity fund managers (again just an example), etc, who have had the opportunity of living and spending a considerable period of time abroad, paid bills and taxes there, would always grab whatever opportunity they can, to come and rest/flex in Nigeria. Life in general is laid back here, compared to the constant rat-race abroad, where the slightest financial bump or delay in receiving your paycheck, can result in homelessness.

But then, some might argue that the welfare system in place (in Canada especially) is there to cushion most of the shock of hard living, should one find him/herself out of a job.

Lemme travel to the obodo oyibo first and experience things practically instead of onlinelically, then I'll be better informed to decide if I want to stay there for a while (maybe for the period of my active years) after which I'll then retire to Owerri or Enugu; or instead adopt the "we die here!" stance of Lexusgs430, kiss Naija goodbye and then use my green Passport to light charcoal.

Immigrants( Indians, Chinese and others) on quora have complained bitterly about Canada. Some are thinking of heading to the US or UK.

Canadian PRs are doing a great job trying to inflate Canada's GDP with immigration.

Job opportunities are only available to immigrants who schooled there.

Only married immigrants enjoy Canada. If you are single, you will probably die of loneliness because Canadians are generally anti social. Their activities are somewhat robotic.

If you go there to school, make as much friends as possible.

Parts of your write up are true, but not entirely. There are lots of immigrants on LinkedIn with top jobs, I know some personally. You also do not have to school here, although it helps and it is encouraged to at least get a canadian certification.
Yes, Canada is boring, every canadian will tell you that, and that is their lifestyle, that will not change, but they are not antisocial. Nigerians are very social, that is why canadians may seem antisocial to you, and their idea of fun is very different from ours
