The hype is getting annoying. I have been living in Canada for 10 years and a citizen too. The main difference between Canada and Nigeria is the system works to some extent in the former while the system is messed up in the latter by the ruling elites and average 9ja citizens. Canada is not paradise where you pick money free. Even getting a good job with decent pay in Canada is hard to come by too, especially this era of too many highly qualified professionals coming to Canada. Lots of people in Canada are doing the so called menial jobs (minimum wage). According to statistics Canada many of the jobs are in the service sectors ( jobs in this sector are minimum wage jobs like working in Tim Horton etc). The funny thing is that Nigerians in Canada always feel that because they are in Canada they are better than those in Nigeria (guys be humble both of us know how e dey go for Canny). Some guys in Nigeria are doing better than some of us here. Not everyone will make it in Canada same as not everyone will make it in 9ja. So if you want to migrate, then migrate in peace and stop behaving like those living in 9ja are stupid. Nowhere is paradise. The prayer is God should favor one whereever he finds himself.

Why does the system work in Canada? because black ppl aren't majority there. With this mass migration of nigerians into Canada, that system that works will soon begin to decline especially if blacks tale over the affairs of Canada

1) the Health care system: Truth be told the health care system is truly organised. The medical practitioners are well trained over here in Canada (I am not saying we have quacks in Nigeria.) They would give you your full service because you have paid for it in your tax.
Giving birth in Canada is free and some other treatments. All you need is to go to the hospital with your health card and you would be treated.

False, You don't get treated properly unless ur actually dying. Most walk in clinics will send you home without properly seeing you. If you dont have a family doctor that can actually take time and look at you many things get overlooked. I had Hep A , for months the doctor sent me home with immodum until my liver was soo swollen that i couldnt even sleep on my front or back. Most medical treatments also arent covered by basic medical insurance

3) Less traffic congestion and good roads: The traffic is so organised, it is not like Lagos that you can just flout the traffic rules and nothing grave would happen

False , Toronto and Vancouver has one of the worst traffic in north america as there are too many cars on the road. A house hold with 4 adults can easily have 4 cars.

4) Diversity: in Canada we have people from all over the world living here Namely; Indians, Chinese, Nigerians, Ghanaians. Just name any nation in the world and you would find at least someone from that nation.

5) Equal opportunities for everyone: grin Yes! Canada is the land of opportunity for everybody. In Canada, no one cares your tribe, the colour of your skin or whatever barrier. It is easy to start up a business in Canada as far as it is legal.

False, there are certain ceilings an immigrant may never cross, low key there is favouritism. Asians keep to themselves mostly , brown people the same. As a black person you are expected to be head and shoulders above your colleagues to stand out which isn't a bad thing.

9) Transportation: smiley smiley The transportation here in Canada is very well organised. Here in Toronto, we have this type of bus (like the BRT). if you want to take the bus you are going to get a presto card You would tap the card to the machine for every two hours. You do not need to pay for the next bus if it is within those two hours span. we have a uber, lift and other means of transportation.

Not sure about Toronto but in Vancouver the transportation system is trash. my theory is there are forces that prevent proper train coverage so real estate continues to remain high in the lower mainland. Compared to a city like london where i was able to get trains at all hours of the day.

10) The food: They have poutine ( which is basically fries covered with gravy), they also have very good culture

False , i can name all the main types of food here.

Italian food - Pizza , Pasta

The list above is made better here than in naija tho.

Im so sick of eating sub par food that i cook for myself mostly. After a couple years one will be sick of it too.

The locals are suffering because of the amount of dirty money that is coming in and the amount of debt that each Canadian household carries.

CANADA is a bipolar country. The immigration system works to bring in immigrants BUT once you don enter, the entire system works to kick you out.....Caveat Emptor. Once you enter, they hold you down.. all those separated family matters(one parent in naija and the rest in canada), they dislike it. dem no like am at all. Most folks wey do that thing na so so lie lie dem dey like to keep their papers. your entire worldwide income is taxed (except you dont declare it) If you have rent in Naija or you sell anything at all, once it is income, you are expected to declare in in canada and it will be taxed.
