Gig economy refers to jobs within a labor market that presents contract jobs/freelance jobs based on a contractual agreement between the worker and the company/organization. In other words, as a gig worker, you are not a permanent staff member of the company/organization that you work for, you are a freelancer. You get paid for each job you do.

People working under the gig economy have the freedom to work for as many companies/organizations as they can handle. The gig economy is rising as more people are looking at building their career portfolios through freelance work with various platforms.

The Covid-19 pandemic has also contributed to making the gig economy expand throughout the world as lockdown rules are implemented. Many companies/organizations have gone fully remote, so, there is more demand for gig workers, who can carry out their duties from wherever they are.

If you are on the lookout for remote work as a gig worker, you should talk to your professional friends for work opportunities. You can also register on the following websites and look out for job postings;

Don't get me wrong . I asked an honest question . I know some of the sites listed out . And will like to know what your earnings are like on them .. some sites for example don't pay well , some don't accept Nigerians , etc etc ... So don't feel attacked I come in peace

I apologise for my outburst. I will do a post on which remote work websites accept Nigerians. As for the payments, it depends on the third parties involved. Many sites are just conduits between freelancers and companies/individuals seeking project handlers.
