Again I agree with this.

There is another Nigerian company coming with MRAPs, they might launch this year.

There's going to be considerable competition in the military vehicles sector.

I just hope we see advances in the area of IFVs and ammunition.

DICON DG is saying they would concentrate on ammunition development from small caliber to large calibre rounds.

Yeap not one person or company monopolizing the industry, there would be considerable competition.
On the ammunition development that's an area PROFORCE is going to make money from. Even with the DICON industry the military is still importing ammunition for small calibre arms.

Threat level, potential enemies,cost-a relevant story . In the 80s the true nature of M7 came out. He began border provocations with then prez Moi sending his child soldiers on cross border raids. This climaxed in 87 when a participant told me at least a full coy of National Resistance Army boys were slaughtered by the General Service Unit at the common biorder in Malaba town.

The four-day exchange of gunfire between Kenyan paramilitary security police and Ugandan soldiers was the most serious flare-up in a yearlong diplomatic row between the two countries.

Each side accused the other of starting the trouble.

Uganda said three of its soldiers were killed in the conflict. Kenya admitted no losses and claimed to have killed 26 Ugandans.

M7 continued sponsoring subversives and organising border raids and the 2 countries broke off relations for a while. IIRC it was in the early 90s when the KDF decided upon a peaceful capacity demo using a pair of either F 5s or Phantoms. Staging from Kisumu they did a day light single high speed low level pass and photo recce of Kampala.
The AA boys had gone to lunch and later told a furious M7,"we only saw unclear images on our radar! WE HAD NO WARNING!"
Lesson: you don't need heavy twin engine 80 mn $ Su 35/Rafales/Typhoons surrounded by Senegal,Ghana or Gambia. Pray,tell-who will the NAF use these sexy beast on-Cameroon? I think not!
Neither do you need T 90s or Armatas for BH gun trucks;AFVs,drones and proper tactics are enough.

You know We were actually enjoying the story until you dragged Nigeria into it. No two battles are alike , and no the classic mistake of just because you bring a gun to a gunfight does not mean I will bring one . In war you need to send a message . Thankfully NIGERIA is finally learning this lesson . The lesson should be to follow the GODFATHER code
When my enemies spoke about me in your presence ( not mine)
why weren't they not afraid.
For Nigeria ;
It is most definitely hoped Nigeria will fire her UCAVS ( AGAIN ) in anger in the weeks to come. Armenia will think twice , thrice before they attack AZEBERJAN again do you know why ? Because they followed your creed of military thinking.
Nigerians are criticizing the Military because we EXPECT a lot , lot more from them don't get it twisted.

I agree with your comments the Challenge for PROFORCE is to look at the vacuums that exist and see how they can exploit it. What I see is a Nigerian Made Infantry fighting Vehicle ( IFV) capable of carrying 12 troops over difficult uneven terrain in a short amount of time with a Remote Control weapons System ( RCWS) .Whomever does this gets rid of the widely detested Thin skinned Hilux vehicles. The challenge is :cost, armor protection ,reliability in battle and convincing GOVT to buy into it.

Convincing govt to buy it is my big fear here. It doesn't help that the private sector spends resources to develop equipment for the military only for the military to start producing those same equipment themselves.
If the few defence companies in Nigeria had FIRM COMMITMENT TO BUY(the final product, not prototypes) and in reasonable quantities. I feel they will outdo themselves in a bid to deliver.
The era of military built vehicles, bullet proof vests, helmets, ceremonial swords etc should be behind us. They should be giving out the required specs, throw out an open bid,evaluating/testing the end products and buying in the required quantities

Nigerian Army places fresh order for 52 Ezugwu MRAPs

Ezugwu disclosed that, this year, the Nigerian army had awarded contract for 52 Ezugwu MRAP and would be supplied by DICON between June and July this year.

“The awareness, operational efficiency of our troops has been enhanced with the introduction of the vehicles and we are hoping that it will really help our operational base,.”Ezugwu said.

what a sexy beast.... Ezugwu never disappoints... from the very first iteration to this latest marvel.
all hail Ezugwu !!!!
May the sun never set on the rejuvenation of DICON.
Proforce........ DICON has finally caught up oh, in under two years.
Proforce, you have to raise the bar once more.
Remote weapon station will not be bad at all.
But what will be even better is a tank prototype. grin grin
Show us something new, prove once more that you are the leader in the private military industry.
The nay-sayers wont believe its possible, just like they didn't believe ARA was possible, till they saw it.
now, they follow, Kudos, to all....
This is truly a sight to behold.

A Landing Ship is an offensive weapon, but if you mean if it has missiles and bombs, no it doesn't.

I just hope Nigerian companies benefit from this. It would be a shame if they are not fully carried along.

We know DICON has been given a contract for 52 vehicles, what about Proforce, NMT, EPAIL and Innoson?

This means Nigeria's Defence budget for 2021 is nearly 5 billion dollars.

That's not bad if very well utilized.

I hope the government only does deals.

I honestly feel Proforce isn't getting as much support as they should be getting from the military. There should be enough orders for Ara II to make sure the company is busy throughout the year. The company won't grow as fast as it should if they don't get this kind of support.
