HEY NAIRALANDERS
so basically I'm currently in ss3 will be writing my waec this April I'm 14 years old will be 15 by April,i want y'all to drop your opinion. Should I study nursing (registered nurse) here in Nigeria and further it in USA (nurse practitioner or CRNA)
Or complete under grad here (babcock university) then go for PA (physician assistant) program in USA
OR medicine here in Nigeria (unilag) and complete my residency in USA,, and I heard medicine is SO so tough for average student (like me)...whuch path would u advice me to go I don't want to have regrets in the Future

Nursing definitely. You can't earn up to a doc. You go to US with your Nursing degree but for Medicine some states require you starting over again with MD or DO

My dear, PLEASE, try and write eligibly next time.
The whole matter depends on what you want.
IF you need a course that can get you out of Nigeria quickly, that course is NURSING.
In terms of Pay, MEDICINE is one of the highest in the United States.
In Fact, Medical Doctors earn higher than the United States President.
Nursing pays well too.
But the Road to Medical Climax in the United States is very very very Rigorous but when clinched it's usually BLOOD MONEY.

Stick to and study what you are familiar with in Nigeria

You can always be what you wish to be outside the country!

first of all that you are average doesn't mean you can't do medicine. I tell people that the most difficult aspect of med school is in getting in. Not getting out
You seem like someone from a wealthy background so you have some options.
If you are passionate about medicine. Then go for it. But if you're not then don't bother because the long years and the input it requires will wear you out.
You can study medicine in Nigeria and go for USMLE if you want to practice in the US. But the exam hard gan.
As for nurse practitioner you can only get the degree in the US as it's not recognized anywhere else that I know of.
Nursing is also good. You can definitely live well off with a career in nursing.
But as for the most LUCRATIVE? Medicine is more both home and abroad.

Please you will have to make reading your thing. Healthcare courses are no walk-in-the-park. You will need to read and research on your own in college or university. Best of luck

Before you can study medicine in the US, you must finish a science course like Biology, etc, then enrol for medicine. The years is very long and financially demanding too.

My honest advice would be for you to go for Nursing (BSN) and then work towards registering as an RN in the US or start from UK which is easier because you wouldn't need to seat for NCLEX.

As for income, medical doctors earn more, but your income abroad as a professional is also dependent on the number of hours per day you are willing to work.

Don't stress yourself looking for best university in Nigeria. Any federal university is very okay, just try and graduate with 2.1. While in your final year register and write IELTS while your brain is still hot and active to give you higher chances of passing it. Or you can write it towards end of NYSC. Then follow the UK nursing career pathway
