Things were good before Buhari because we were earning a lot of dollars from high oil prices

Thus we had the money to pay debts, buffer the naira and so on.

Infact between 2008 to 2014 oil was at 80-130 dollars per barrel

From 2014 to date oil has been between 20 to 80 per barrel.

And because of the low oil prices we have had to take on more debt to pay for things.

The same thing happened between 1973 to 1982. Oil was high then. That was the time when my dad could feed a family and spinsor two relatives on a salary of 300 naira. That was when one ofmy dads colleagues bougjt a car for 900 naira.and by 1978 N1 was $1

Im 1982 oil prices crashed. By 1984 we wre broke and by 1986we had to do SAP. By 1989 $1 was N7.

It ia called the resource trap, aka dutch disease.It iswhy when oil prices go up things are good and when they are down things are bad.

It is also why a loaf of bread went from 50kobo in 1978 to N20 over ten years later.

We know the solution. Cut subsides, cut corruption, cut bloated civil service, become a manufacturing society that axtively exports . It is because Buhari won't take such decisions that makes him a bad leader.

And Boko Haram was bombing everywhere and kidnapping everywhere too. Buhari taking over hasn't changed things
