You won't find medicine hard IF you know how to study effectively and efficiently. Otherwise, you may feel frustrated studying medicine (especially if you don't really have PASSION for it)
I can give you a few practically useful tips on how to study diligently, understand what you study properly and be able to remember it effectively.( I teach and train students on HOW TO LEARN EFFECTIVELY AND PERFORM EXCELLENTLY )

if u like reading and you eventually get to study medicine you would see its fun. cos your long hours of reading would be fun, but make sure you understand yourself cause your fellow colleagues and those from other dept would oppress you with their reading habits, understand yourself and do what works for you.
some are night readers, others are day readers, some attend classes others skip classes but note that from 400level to 600 level try and attend class and posting cos medicine is very wide but by attending classes and posting you tend to get coded AOCs to focus on. by attending posting you tend to see cases usually seen in bedside exams.

It's not true.
I know a particular brilliant doctor that spent 9years in the uni. She failed twice around 500-600l before she finally graduated .

Yes it is hard

Are you ready to learn from 8am to 6pm daily?
Then from 8pm to 12pm you read all your books you learnt for the day. Then wake up by 6, study for the day and return to class for 5 years?

Your UNCLE is CORRECT.
All a MEDICAL STUDENT needs is consistent.
For a Medical student to emerge a medical doctor at the end of the program, that student must see READING as a HOBBY and not as punishment.

Even an Average student can study medicine provided he or she is serious and cleaves to the wise.
MEDICINE has enormous advantages, in that it broadens ur horizon & improves your knowledge base. However, there are some courses that BLOCK BRAINS like the ones GARBA SHEHU & Lai Mohammed studied.
Please avoid those courses.

You don't have to be exceptionally brilliant to study medicine. With hardwork and consistency, even if you're of average intelligence, you'll be able to make it through.
Sincerely, this talk about reading for at least 6 hours daily does not apply to me, except towards exams. It all depends on your capacity.
Someone can study for six hours daily and score the same as someone who studies for three hours. It's all relative.

First of all, I'll need to know the kind of student you are and how well you are currently faring academically.
Think about the following questions carefully and answer them sincerely:
1. On a scale of 1–10, what would you honestly grade yourself in terms of your academic performance (10 being the highest)?
2. Have you written UTME before? If yes, what was your score?
3. How much time do you generally spend studying and how frequently do you study?
4. How do you study? For instance, when you study, do you usually try to "cram" what you read or do you try to understand it as much as possible?
5. What subjects do you consider yourself to be good at and which ones give you tough time?
The answers you supply to these questions (and a few more I may ask later) will help me know the best way to help you.

Any course/degree programme can be 'hard'. 'Hard' is relative and it sometimes depends on who is talking and 'Who' is listening. I'm sure elect/elect, accounting/law can also come forward and say their courses are also not hard wink. Besides I'm sure there are probably courses that are much more harder than medicine wink.

all that is required in medicine is for your brain to b able to register large load of stuffs at a very short period of time, store them for long period of time and produce/retrieve those stored stuffs as quickly as possible when asked of u..

Your brain and determination are the key factors.

An imbeciile studying medicine will find it harder than a normal person.

Go and read medicine. Nothing good comes easy.

Aren't people software engineers? Programmers? What's medicine compared to engineering? It's better to read 1000 pages that you can understand in a week than read 1 page that may take you 2 years to understand.

3)i don't really have a particular time it depends on how determined I am that day
4)i try to understand as much as possible, sometimes when I read I explain it to my sis.. lol though she's 7 years old but i understand more when I explain it to someone
5)chemistry gives me tough time, biology and physics are good

Based on the answers you gave to questions 1, 4 and 5, I can infer that you're already doing well academically. So you shouldn't have any problem understanding and applying the tips I'll be giving you on how to perform much better.

The tips I'll be giving you will basically help you develop/improve 4 fundamental ABILITIES that are critical for learning effectively and efficiently. These are:
1. The ability to study DILIGENTLY
2. The ability to FOCUS and be adequately ATTENTIVE when studying (and when being taught)
3. The ability to UNDERSTAND the material/information you study
4. The ability to REMEMBER what you have studied.

Without a doubt, the more you improve your ability in these 4 areas, the better you'll be as a learner and the easier it will be for you to perform excellently in school. The sky will be your limit!

I'll give you the necessary tips on what you need to KNOW and DO as regards the first 2 parts free of charge. You MAY then need to pay before you get the tips for the other 2 parts.
