BabaOwen:My brother God bless you. If Ikwerre had got 5 states the same way Igbos have, they would not have been rooted in this argument. Let me show you a prove of the superiority of Ikwerre Language over what Igbo speaks. Any time an Igbo person tells you Ikwerre people speak Igbo just tell him to give you the Igbo word for "Yes". I tell you it does not exist. As simple as "Yes" does not exixst in Igbo Language but they will say a language that has everything in it was copied from one that is incomplete. SMH. 2 Likes |

Muna4real: At least there is someone here who has acknowledged that the Ikwerres have always maintained their independent identity even before the war unlike many folks who out of ignorance but mostly deliberate mischief, try to peddle lies that, Ikwerre people accepted being Igbo until after the war when they started denying it and with the most ridiculous and imbeci.lic claim that they started adding RUMU and changing the names of their towns and villages after the war. |

Kwashiman:You have proven that the ability to read and write is not the only benchmark for literacy. You are are a stark illiterate when it comes to the field of anthropology especially Nigerian people and culture. The small size of a community does not make it part of a neighbouring bigger community. Of course, their culture and others may be the same. Have you ever thought of, if Ikwerre had got 5 states the same way Igbos have, would you have said Ikwerre is Igbo? Portuguese and Spanish Languages are similar but that does make Portuguese Spanish despite the size of Portugal. The culture of Ikwerre and Igbos are similar no doubt. They may be brothers. You are related to someone that does not make that person not even your father. I have always seen an Igbo person as a brother, same way other Ikwerres do. But we dont see ourselves as Igbos. The Igbos that migrated earlier to Ikwerre land respected this. The whole narration changed when Nnamdi Kanu started to brainwash your types. We have always lived peacefully with the Igbos, please let this continue. |

chrisxxx: Was it Nnamdi that brainwashed former Governor Chibuike Amaechi, an Ikwerre man, to say he is an Igbo man? Was it Nnamdi Kanu that brainwashed immediate past Secretary General of Ohanaeze, Uche Okwukwu, and Ikwerre man, to say he is Igbo? Not all Ikwerres deny being Igbo, some are proud Igbos. Wike said he is not Igbo, but Obi Wali said he is Igbo. 3 Likes 1 Share |

gidgiddy:Senator Obi Wali could never have said he was Igbo. Remember, that Senator Obi Wali was among the pioneer members of Ogbakor Ikwerre in 1963. Being Igbo is not a dent. It is a thing of pride being an Igbo person. So do not force it on anyone. Let me also tell you this, Ikwerre accepts just as Igbos do to claim lineage based on where either of ones parents come from. You could claim Igbo (it is acceptable) if your dad is Ikwerre and mum Igbo. Igbos would welcome such person same way Ikwerres would welcome same. There is one problem people like you like fanning. I am happy I am related to the Igbo people. But calling me an Igbo person that is where you missed it. Right from time even when the Igbos were everything and had power then in Eastern Nigeria, Ikwerre people never accpted to be Igbo. Permit me to educate you further. Some Ikwerres as well would not find it difficult saying they are Igbos. and why? Some Igbos have naturalised in Ikwerre land. We call them the Aros. They are in Elele and Isiokpo mostly. They could not find their ways back to Igbo land. We had no option but to accept them. These set of people and their offspring dont hesitate in saying they are Igbos. Any Ikwerre person that tells you he is Igbo check his background. He is likely an Aro descendant. 2 Likes |
Thrash, no point reading all that nonsense. I'm not your brother and will never be, stop usurping and appropriating my name, culture and language so we can start to separate the corn from its husk. You're Bini go and adopt Bini names and stop dragging Igbos into your identity crisis mess, tomorrow if one Ikwerre man executes a coup in Nigeria like Nzeogwu did in 1966, the rest of Nigeria will call him an Igbo and start to massacre Igbos all over Nigeria. Enough is Enough. 2 Likes |

Ikwerre man has never left his home to your home. Everyone knows that you are the migrants who move to places to usurp their culture and tradition. Evidentially you stole my language. As a prove give me the Igbo word for 'Yes'. Anytime you get that I will continue the argument with you. |

chrisxxx: I'm not aware that Obi Wali ever denounced being Igbo. In 1963, Ogbakor Ikwerre was no different from Oha Ngwa, Nzuko Arochukwu, Orlu Union, etc. Every Igbo clan had their individual organization outside Igbo Union before the war, why should Ikwerre be any different? One day we will get to know the real reason Obi Wali was murdered, time reveals every hidden thing. Obi wali family in Ikwerreland like Ogbuehi Francis Ellah family in Ogba have continued to refuse to toe the path of Igbo denial just like their parents did. Even though I remain firmly Ikwerrephobic and believe that every single Ikwerre man in Ohaneze Ndiigbo or any other Igbo gathering should be expelled and disgraced out . But deep in me, my heart goes out to families like Obi walis and Francis Ellahs in Ikwerre and Ogba. I wonder what would become of them if we shut them off. It would be cruel I believe. But Igbophobes like you make it increasingly tempting not to consider the plight of these proud Igbo families there. 7 Likes |

chrisxxx: When he became wiser about the so-called Ikwerre people being used for what is buried in the ground, he decided to distance himself from Ogbakor Ikwerre. Senator Obi Wali joined few Ikwerre and Omoku chaps to form Ohanaeze Ndigbo in 1976. You should be mindful that positions in Ohanaeze are not dashed or given to individuals but must be contested. Senator Obi Nwali's son whom has be alleged to have won the position of Vice president in Ohanaeze has long identified himself as Igbo. He once said that he is Ikwerre then Igbo as Ngwa or Wawa person is Igbo. 3 Likes |

pazienza: Senator Dr. Francis Ellah from Omoku was the original member of the founding fathers of Ohanaeze and if I am not goofy, was the secretary general of the Ohanaeze. I knew his family when my father was a district councilor. His father's name was Chief Isaiah Ellah. Francis or younger siblings fought Nigeria\Biafra as Biafran soldier. 5 Likes |

chrisxxx:There is nothing special about Ogbakor Ikwerre, an Igbo word for that matter. It is the same in every Igboid settings. We have Nzuka Ishiagu, Ogbakor Imo etc. If Ikwerre are actually not Igbo, how come the name of their apex organization is an Igbo word for gatthering of...? Mind you, Owerri people use the same Ogbakor, for their union. furthermore, You have the right to assert your ethnicity, but in reality, you are playing a very nasty politics, judging from the result. the Igbo groups in Rivers state is in splinter, and thus lack political prowess, like their counterpart in Delta, that is grouped under Anioma. Oil politics will soon be a thing of the past, and I believe, the bitter politics it attracts. 1 Like |

If you think that a few percentage of nndigbo you see in ikweree Land Will Make them copy ikweree language, how about other languages of the world since we are everywhere? Is ikweree Land the only place we have migrated to? What about uhrobo, itshekiri, spanish, italian, French, Fulani, Yoruba, swahili, Zulu and All The languages of the world? We should have copied them too right? Mtchew |

mekysmart123:In Delta State there are true Igbos there. In Rivers State no ethnic group see themselves as Igbos not even indigenous Oyigbo. My language is not Igbo. Please use your education. You might not which language came first. You have advantage to be known with the language based on sheer size. If Ikwerre had got as much States as Igbos have I doubt if you would have said this. Please be educated. Ikwerre language has a lot of varieties just like Igbo has. If you listen to Ikwerre spoken in Emohua and Ikwerre LGAs it is quite different from that spoken in Obio Akpor Port Harcourt. |

Re: Ikwerre Man Emerges Deputy President General Of Ohanaeze by Odingo1: 10:07pm On Jan 14, 2021 |
chrisxxx:Shame on you, twisting bile, Igbo word for yes is ekwerem, that is where Ikwere name was derived by British when they ask Iwuruoha people to agree so that they use part of Igwuocha( renamed Portharcourt by the British) to build a port, the Iwuruoha people said ekwerem meaning I agree or yes. The British call them Ikwere, that is when Iwuruoha people started answering Ikwere. Originally Ikwere people are Igbos. If they like they can keep on denying their heritage. All Nigerians laugh at their stupidity and know they are Igbos. Even Oba of Benin they are running to said that there is no Bini history that link Ikwere people to ancient Bini kingdom. Let some Ikwere like Wike keep turning theirselves into a laughing stock. 6 Likes |

chrisxxx:Igbos have similar Jewish tradition a talk for another day. For some Ikweres their denials of not been Igbos in Nigeria is not holding water because how can a tribe forget their original Bini language and be speaking Igbo and bearing Igbo names. Ijaw, Efik, Ibibios, Itsekiris, Urobo that is surrounded by Igbos all have their language. Some Ikwere people should keep on deceiving theirselves. Igbos don’t give damn about them. chrisxxx: No Asa Man , no Ndoki man and Egbema man has ever denied being Igbo. No even the Omumas and and to an extent, the Etches, deny being Igbo. What many people dont remember is that most of these people were in the old Owerri and Aba provinces. The place called Oyigbo today used to be called Obigbo before it was carved out of Imo state in 1976 and put in Rivers state, then renamed Oyigbo. Rivers state was created in 1967 by Gowon from land stolen from Aba province, Owerri province, Portharcourt province and Yenagoa province. What makes me laugh are those who suddenly believe that people who were Igbos from time immemorial are no longer Igbos because Rivers state was created 1 Like |

gidgiddy:One mistake you guys make is to agree with the Eastern Region created by Lord Lugard but disagree with Nigeria the same Lugard created. Look at a time for the sake of governing convenience the whole of North was one entity. That did not make everyone there Hausa or Fulani. The same thing also happened to Western Nigeria, Do you know that Delta and Edo were once in Western Nigeria? Eastern Nigeria was created with Igbos and others. At a time there was realignment. The likes were put together and the unlike separated. May I asked you who created all these province you mentioned? 1 Like |
