So, who do you guys think is the villian of the Wanda-vision series.

I would say it is Agatha harkness.

there's a scene in episode 2 where she tells Wanda to act unnaturally around Donny. but Wanda thinks she should just be herself.

Agatha is utterly shocked when Wanda says "or maybe I could just be myself"--- which might mean that Agatha wants Wanda to live a false life, that's why she trapping her in a fake world. (even though it's what Wanda has always wanted).

in the comics, Agatha is a very powerful witch. she even teaches Wanda how to use her powers.

this is just speculation, so I might be wrong.

Guy, you misunderstood the post

I'm not dissing the quality of Marvel films.

On the contrary, i'm drawing attention to the fact that the MCU is the most critically acclaimed franchise scoring back to back hits with none of the films being outrightly slaughtered by critics.

The argument was how long it would take before the MCU got their first stinker.

As for The Incredible Hulk & Thor TDW, those movies were not critically panned. Both movies were scored "Fresh" on RT. They were divisive at best.

The MCU hasn't had a rotten film on RT since it's inception in 2008

webhead:
so, what are you insinuating?

I think mcu movies are a big improvement over the many low quality films that fill Hollywood these days.

that's not to say that every mcu movie is great, but that it is a franchise cares more about quality.

also, Incredible Hulk and Thor the dark world have been bashed by critics.

OK oo

Whatever you say ...

MJBOLT:
Agents of Shield wasn't produced by marvel studios, so it isn't MCU property undecidedanything under the MCU is marvel studios property whether it was produced by them or not and your initial comment did not specify movies,it said the MCU is the most .........

Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe by MJBOLT: 8:38am On Jan 16, 2021
Agents of Shield is connected directly to the movies, the rest just reference the events of the movies

webhead:
but they aren't connected to the mcu, right?

i don't see it bro. Not even if I squint. We'll need to see more to know for certain and I think we're still very far away from seeing teasers and BTS footage for Moon Knight.

Wanda Vision episode One 10/10

This has to be the most painful MCU content I have ever watched. Thank God they made it just 25mins long.

Okay.

judging by how far Kevin Feige is wanting to push their overall baseline of quality, I don't see the high standards of the movies falling anytime soon.

I believe that phase 4 movies will be their best, yet.

there might be some mediocre movies (not terrible) in between but no way it'll pull down the weight of the franchise.

I am doubtful. I mean, I do agree that Agnes is almost certainly Agatha, but the thing is, she consistently pokes and prods and involves herself in Wanda's life, makes odd asides, and just generally. . . calls attention to the seams, at least indirectly.

If Agnes were actively trying to keep Wanda trapped, she wouldn't be doing most of the things she's doing.

She's probably on the side of the light, she's just as ensnared by the reality bubble as the two main heroes are, more or less.

Agatha Harkness is certainly possible.

An idea just popped into my head that perhaps she is connected to the Ancient One tongue

Maybe Strange catches note of the damage she’s doing to the space time continuum by manipulating Wanda and that’s what attracts his attention.

My speculation is that if Hahn is Harkness then the MCU version is possibly a former disciple of The Ancient One gone rogue.

Generic idea but I do think it’s likely grin

Agnes being a socerer apprentice turn villain is a possibility, given how Wanda vision is tied to doctor strange 2

So I have watched The New Mutants a few time so now and im starting to really like it smiley

The movie has a nice bit of heart and I liked it introducing horror and super natural elements to the Fox-verse. Fox should have just released on it’s original date a sequel the quasi-sequel to Logan it was meant to be.

I really like the final fight with the Demon Bear which considering the budget is mad, but has a nice ring behind it. And also I love the cast, kudos for the first same sex couple in a CBM.

If the rumours are true and the MCU is up for keeping some Fox-verse actors, I wouldn’t mind them keeping this cast at all, but especially Anya Taylor-Joy as Magik.

The MOST CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED FRANCHISE ever goes to LOTR. No cap!!!
Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe by 1000WaysToLive(m): 5:50pm On Jan 19, 2021
Fair enough. Forgot about LOTR.

However, MCU has a total of 20+ films, compared to the 6 Middle-earth films, or the 9 Potterverse films

Compared individually, the level of acclaim may differ between ALL these films but the sheer fact that NONE of the 20+ films from the MCU have been critically panned is quite impressive to me. The worst MCU film records a "Fresh" rating on RT, as well as decent ratings from other critic sites.

I don't think you could point to any other franchise this consistent, with more than 20 movies.

That being said, my point was if the MCU will soon get a critically derided film, seeing as there is no conclusion to the film universe anytime soon

There's no other franchise with more than a dozen movies. So, in the numbers game, the MCU wins by default.

Someone rank Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Agents of Shield, Flash, Green Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, Doom Patrol & Titans.

I would think I'd love to watch Titans but that initial trailer never sit right with me. Nor did I ever hear this was a must watch.

Daredevil will always be god tier, so that show is the gold standard. Everything else can fall in line.

I’m not well versed in the Teen Titans mythos and I too was one of those people put off by the Titans trailer, but when you sit down and watch it it’s pretty good. They space things out randomly at times but it held my attention, binged it in a weekend.

Doom Patrol is on the to-do list next. Will soon see what the hype is about.
