Nigeria will now face Ivory Coast on Wednesday in the finals of the WAFU U17 zone B tournament after CIV beat Niger by 1-0. Epic final with the size of the CIV players. All the best to our golden eaglets.

Onuachu is heading to Lyon it seems

If it were me I'll advise him to stay in Genk and finish the season with them
why? so that he can break record in Belgium or what? there is no time to waste, he needs to get to France asap and prove his worth, there is still a goal post in France to continue from where he stopped.

Na so e easy, did they actually scout him or was he a knee jerk buy? If he struggles in France this season is useless to him whereas if he ends the season as top scorer other clubs if not Lyon will still come for him

even if he scores 40 goals, no club outside of Lyons range will still come for him. he just shortened the time he'll take to make it. don't worry, he'll start dropping goals. everyone is always skeptical of January transfers

Abia warriors are basically the feeder team for enyimba. Both are owned by the government so there is a gulf in class. That said, they play some good football and were even unlucky not to get at least a point when I saw them in Uyo.

NFF Want Special Consideration From FIFA For Fulham Star Ademola Lookman To Be Part Of Squad For AFCON Qualifiers
Owngoalnigeria Jan 16, 2021 11:04 AM

A chieftain of the Nigeria Football Federation says the football house has appeal to FIFA to allow Fulham star Ademola Lookman play for Nigeria while the await the final step of his clearance.

Lookman has already applied to switch allegiance to Nigeria from England since 2019 but a combination of issues like the lockdown brought about by the coronavirus pandemic has stalled the process.

The lengthy process usually takes around a year to complete for players who have played for England at youth levels due to the fact that all football associations under the United Kingdom totalling five need to sign.

For now not all have signed the document from FIFA due to issues mentioned above and the Nigerian FA want special consideration for Lookman, like they got when the process of Kevin Akpoguma’s switch from Germany was hurried through to enable him make his debut for Nigeria.

“ We have gotten permission from Rohr to quicken the process because he is keen on having him for the games in March. On our part we have specially written to FIFA to grant our wish since the player in question have already started the process. We hope to get a response soon”, he said.

The NFF should stick with its plan of fielding true U17 & U20 players, it might not be too palatable for us now but soon we shall reap the benefits of staying true to real ages of our players.
I wish the U17 boys the best in the AFCON

Where is our residential south gate, that said NFF had not been serious with the switch

Because he's cursed or what? Finishing the season possibly winning the league and adding top goalscorer to his CV will get him clubs bigger than Lyon's range

This is not the first time clubs bigger than Lyon have scooped up players in the Belgian league

Actually no it doesn't. The jupilar's top scorer last season ended up at Lille. The big transfers coming out of Belgium really happen in January. Ndidi to Leicester and Samatta to Aston Villa both were January transfers.

He is basically implying that regardless of how many goals that paul scores at genk, Historically famous clubs like Man utd, Barcelona, Bayern won't really be interested until paul proves himself at a Higher level than Genk or at Medium Big clubs, farmers league etc. If lyon is actually interested then paul should sign for them. If there's anything we can learn from osimehn situation is that if you keep scoring and improving yourself, teams will be interested in signing you.
