The thread also reminded me of an event of 2018/2019 in Canada. One useless conservative tried to bring Trump's style of politics into Canada.

How it started. He contested for the leadership position of the mainstream conservative party and was first runner up. He broke away and formed a party that went further right. All the deplorables quickly supported the loser. He contested for PM in 2019 as the leader of his new party and lost big. He was 6th out of 6.
He was soundly rejected. He lost his riding of 12 years. His father also held that riding for 13 years before him. His political career is now finished
