My Covid 19 Journey: Hope by blackpanda(op): 9:58am On Jan 17, 2021
So today is the 5th day of my symptoms and I have to say it's horrible. It's the worst malaria symptoms I've had combined with total loss of smell and taste.

I first noticed my symptoms on the 12th January 2021 which started with runny and stuffy nose aka catarrh. As a naija person, of course I kept promising myself it was just the weather. Plus u I had read somewhere that if u have catarrh that means it's not covid but just the flu. How wrong was I!

Wednesday 13th January brought with it dry cough. By evening of 13th it started to dawn on me that I probably had covid. But I still decided to treat for malaria using one of the new popular brands. It was like quenching a house on fire with a sachet of pure water! Useless

Thursday 14 & Friday 15 body pains all over. Paracetamol helped to relieve it a little. Then the pains came back again, accompanied with general weakness. It also hurts to move my eye balls around or looking into bright light.

Saturday 16th. Wifey noticed something was burning within the compound and asked if I can perceive it. Answer: no. I quickly rushed to spray my strong body spray on my hand and I couldn't smell a thing! The bottle of schweppes I was drinking just tasted slightly salty and that was it!

Sunday 17th.
Made my normal cup of coffee this morning with sugar and milk. It tasted like ordinary hot water and I couldn't smell the coffee at all.

So for now I am mostly just lying in bed and I use paracetamol for the pains. I have also isolated myself in my room and only my partner comes in to give me food or drink.

I'm exhausted y'all pls pray for me.

You are on the path to recovery sir. Never stop being positive.

Please include fruits into your diet inasmuch as it may not taste too good. Yeah you also need vitamin C and D. Inasmuch as you are isolating, try take works under the sun while masked up. Goodluck. If you could also hint us where perhaps you think you got exposed, that will be great.

Seun and Lalasticlala, this should be on FP please.

But i noticed something today. i had porriage yam with lots of green vegetable yesterday and before i finished the food i was already sweating and was a bit better. so i ate the same thing this morning with similar result. i dont know the science behinde green veg though. But i plan to eat more of that.

That is nice. You getting better and perspiring should mean your body is getting back in shape soon. If I am wrong please let a medic say otherwise. How about your wife and others in your home. Hope they are not exhibiting any symptoms.

Update:

So someone told me about a covid drug manufactured by a monastry in nigeria, that it's effective. It's called cugzin and I was able to get it today.

Let's pray it works

Quick recovery bro but don't self-medicate, I nearly lost my life while self-medicating for COVID-19. Mine was even with moderate to severe breathless for 15 days & severe tonsillitis. All thanks to H-MEDIX ABUJA, Pharmacist Amaka, God bless you.

Please report yourself to the nearest hospital.

What drugs did u take for yours? I am weary of going to hospital because of the bias and discrimination I will likely face from even the medical professionals. Besides my symptoms are not severe, it's just body pains and loss of smell n taste now

Exactly hospitals here discriminate on this matter. Read online that a young lady lost her life despite paying for oxygen as the oxygen was allocated more to the VIPs in the isolation centres. Make sure you have a doctor friend that is guiding you on this. The drug you mentioned is an immune-booster which is not bad. Be positive, soon you will be okay.

Monday 18th

Woke up with stuffy nose and slight headache. No body pains now. Still no sense of smell or taste. Let's see how the day goes if there will be improvement. Oh I boiled ginger + garlic tea which I drank last night and this morning.

I had all these symptoms myself, thinking it was malaria but it was more than that. I couldn't smell a thing, I couldn't perceive my body spray but thank God I am ok now. Please take a lot of VITAMIN C with ginger and garlic very important.
