In my part of Nigeria, when someone greets you, he asks after the members of your family including your children. As I was passing through our street a lady I am conversant with greeted me first, asking after my children. As I reply her, I'm expected to also ask after hers. I became confused cos I know she's yet to conceive and have a child (in fact it's been long she's expecting her own child/ren), cos asking her may seem as if I'm mocking her knowing that she has no child yet and if I didn't , it would also be obvious that I didn't rerun the greeting cos she's seen to be barren.
Please readers how can I answer back without eliciting ill feelings or in case of next time

So, "Goodmorning, How are you doing?" is not enough for you?
You want to ask about her ancestors too.

@nnewa, I understand the situation. You're only pitying her condition.

May God use this as a reference and remember her; bless her with fruits of the womb.

For nothing is impossible for HIM.

First of all, she isn't barren. Fear God. Don't use your mouth to cause future problems for your loved ones. Anyone could find herself or himself in such a situation. There's an end to most of these kind of situations by the way.

Secondly, greet her the way people greeted you before your kids came. I am thinking 'how is your husband or how is the family?' will suffice.

And you yourself a man, you are a gossip and a busybody, who proclaimed her barren? You? Are you God? Can't you greet her as you greet couples and go your silly way

That word barren is quite derogatory. What makes her barren? Not having a child now doesn't give you the right to term her barren especially as you ain't her doctor. Simply ask how is the family or how is your husband and move on. Stuupiid people everywhere.
