OPM (Other People's Money)

When a billionaire floats a new company, he tries as much as possible to be insulated in case of collapse.
This is done by either using OPM in the form of bank loans and investor funds or borrowing heavily against the company assets to recoup his initial investment in the company without allowing the business to become profitable.

When push comes to shove, he abandons the company for his creditors and move on to new ventures

You can't educate me on that! I have a financial background. Neither Arik, Aero or Air Peace was listed on the NSE. Before you make such sweeping statements do your research.

Arik Air was essentially responsible for the financial difficulties Union Bank had to deal with.

It was part of their plan. They hoped they could gain traction soon, improve on their cashflow.

you have a financial background, good. but you are making a common mistake, not all publicly traded companies are on the stock exchange. some choose not to be, others are simply not big enough. but shareholders can still trade freely as it is still a public company. browse about UNLISTED PUBLIC COMPANIES.

If you go through that route Air Peace isn't different from Air Peace and Aero Contractors. All three have 1 major shareholder or 1 sole shareholder.


AMCON's mandate was clear, take off non performing loans off the books of banks. The mandate clearly included all types of companies registered under the CAC act.

Arik has been under Amcon since 2017 it was clearly stated in the last paragraph of the article.. Nothing concern corona virus for arik failure
