carter Hills named after the Colonial Governor
Ajimoba Hill named after one of the ancient king trusted guard
Orosun Hill named after a great warriors daughter

The city However moved down in 1923 to give way for civilisation.

Idanre Hills is made up of 682 steps which will take you to the peak of the mountain and 5 resting points where you can chill to catch your breadth. Believe me this is not the journey for the faint hearted. It is one of the most beautiful places to hike in Nigeria.
