I’m looking to purchase this, have you seen it in markets?

It’s called welding magnets or squares but might have another name in Nigeria.

Thanks.

This is true sha. But at least if you’re going to be a welder get the tools and learn.

I mean shebi we bought ratchet set and open ended spanners in our field and figured which one to use when grin

I need to grind down the welds, weld some more, grind some more, consuming Trophy’s. Rinse and repeat grin

My welds are God awful but I’m seeing improvements. Despite best intent I keep getting holes in light materials.

We keep moving.
Threw some anti rust paint on this afternoon. I used it liberally in the joints so it can weep into the holes because I don’t use body filler.

Daddy.
I have been following this thread for so long.
I love this.
I have a non for profit sch in one village like that in north.
And I am considering this as a viable option.
Presently our kids sit on bare floors
I think this will be a viable option
Just that I have two issues.
First what wood is ontop is it mbf?
I am thinking of something strong and fancy.
Secondly can the iron work be twisted and made into something I will show you here

You might not know.
I love reading your post alongside brabus.
God bless both of you and others too on the forum

Hi, thanks for the compliment.

1) Due to the substandard materials issues in Nigeria I simply always just go for the best materials and tools whenever I can. The top here is the best plywood available. It’s N15,000 for a 4’ x 8’ sheet. There are cheaper options of course but you’ll have to weigh the intended usage. For example you can use regular wood but will incur lots of labor to work it into a nice and smooth tabletop.

2) For a school this design is an overkill. There are metals that are in the market that are smaller dimensions to what I used. Those will work well for your intended usage. Personally I haven’t gotten to the stage of bending metals because I don’t have the proper tools yet (this will come towards end of the year). But frankly I think you can mimic these table setup without bending metals.

Thanks and please let me know if I can answer any other questions.

Way to go grin

I learnt something new today.

There’s an outfit in Oke Ado. You take them your MDF or HDF. They’ll cut to size and also fix the matching tape to the edges.

So all one really has to do is make the design and submit accurate measurements.

I’ve wanted to create a housing for my propane to shade it from the elements. I came up with this design.

The top is going to be a removable hip roof that’ll slide in and out to facilitate tank changes. It’ll be a nod to my love of cantilever designs.

I’ll also be changing the part of the hose inside the wall to iron pipe per code.

It’s probably better to show it to your local welder to duplicate.

I used:

Thick profile metal - an overkill but it’s what I like.
Berger Paint - quality but expensive paint.
Anti Rust Paint - most shops will never do this.
Plywood - the best one in the market.
