Mother In Law Won't Allow Me To Meet My Twins Babies by Daddyejima4: 1:57pm On Feb 01, 2021
My life turned upside down on 17th April 2017 I lost my wife from child birth complications, she gave birth to twins girls.
Prior to her death her mother and elder brother carry her out of my house in my absent, she was 6 months gone.
Her mother said that her prophet said I want to use her daughter for money rituals and she will never return to me
I have tried everything to talk /meet her all to no avail
I went to nnewi to her mother house on three occasions but I couldn't meet her, her brother chased me
A week later on the 17th April I received a call from my mother in law tenant to informed me that my wife has passed since a week ago which is 12th of April.
I couldn't believe it and I rushed to nnewi to find everybody in tears
I asked my mother in law why did she do this to me, she said I wanted to use my wife for rituals and she took her away from me because she wanted to save her so how come she died
She held me in the neck shouting at my face to bring her daughter back or else she will kill me too
Some elders intervene and pleaded with her to leave me and was asked to leave immediately that they will inform me about the burials and everything
I didn't even get a chance to see my babies
I tried to contact my wife's twin sister about the burial and how to see my babies, she lied to me then block me
To cut the long story short I didn't attend my wife burial because I was given the wrong date which was two weeks after her burial
On that day I went with my parents and other people only to find out that the burial was two weeks ago
My mother in law wasn't anywhere to be find only the tenants who were present
Have been tying to get in touch with my babies to no avail even taugh she has returned to her house and I have been there three times but she refused to meet me
Its coming to 4 years now that I have never met my twins babies who will be 4 years this April
She is living alone without them, i have no ideas of my babies whereabouts and I heard from people in her hoods that one of my twins is in Abuja with my late wife twin sister and the other is in warri with another sister.
I don't know how to contact any of her sisters nor their husbands because I don't have their numbers
I have since remarried and we are blessed with a 3 months baby girl but I will never forget about mh twins babies, I want to take care of them
I am thinking to report her to the human rights so she can bring my babies back to me because I have been patient with her for 4 years to no avail, I will not take it easy with her anymore. I want my babies back. Your advice will be appreciate please

This story get as e be but in the mean time let say this.

Did you pay your wife dowry?
Why will they hold your children? I think reporting them to the police or human rights as you said will be better. Unless you didn't pay her dowry complete if not they will hold your children because that how some custom do.

Imagine how one prophet have cause calamity here? Probably he's enjoying at home now. A prophet is not sent to cause problems but to bring break through and warn people going astray to align/amend in God's way. Also you reason why I always stand on the discerning spirit as Christians.. You can't have this spirit and be mislead by all this gullible so called prophet.

If I can read you correctly, your wife separated from you, lost her life, and your first concern is babies?
Chai, women are trying.

Well, you don't seem to have a good rapport with your in laws.

Let them raise the babies in peace while you focus on your new family since you've moved on already.

shocked Like seriously Or you are telling us the real story, all of your wife's family can't be so wicked that none of them is your friend sad . Besides, were you legally married? If yes, you need to get them arrested, get a good lawyer and human rights activist. But before you get started, just make sure your story is true.

My story is 100% true. the important lesson I have learned in my life is to never marry a daughter of a woman who had children with multiple men. We were legally married, traditional and church wedding

I can't focus on my new family when I don't have any clue about my babies, if they are being treated well or not.

Start by going to lodge a complaint at the Anambra State's Ministry of Social Welfare, Children & Women Affairs office. Your in-laws will be summoned and would also be told to bring the twins along.

Just go to court.

Make it a legal fight.

I don't want to sound tribalistic but those in the east have this belief that the child belongs to the woman since she bore them. Which is wrong.

The old woman is probably using those kids as emotional support.

Often times, when people state their own side of the story, they leave out their faults.

Your in laws couldn't have 'carried' your wife away. She's supposed to be an adult who knows what she's doing.

Start by telling what she's been complaining about before leaving.

Then show your in laws that your wife's death is painful to you, but, how can you do that when you're remarried?

Presently, how much of money have you set aside for your twins, children are not accessories or property. They need care, and money is the answer to that.

Try and keep gender card sentiment aside dear.. what we are interested was the babies and their interest... If the father is alive and wants his kids.. do u think it's nice for the inlaws to deprive him of seeing or having full custody of them... If you were a judge what's gonna be your ruling?

I think you have to start by meeting her family members with your own family members

Look fir people they respect in their families

There must be a problem you didn't handled well until they took their daughter away from you

By the time you have access to the family just let them know that you want your children to be with you and you are willing to give them free access to visit your children anytime

That you want to train them and sponsor their education

If they refuse then you move to human rights

But remember that despite they denied you access to your wife during her burial which you don't have any idea of how she was buried

You will still go to her grave and wish her a peaceful rest

Anythin dat works for you buh i advise u focus on ur new family so that her parent wont ask her to leave u as ur first wife did, when all ur focus nw is to fight nd get ur twin back while neglecting the ones at home

Go to any court, the well being of the child is placed even above the parents' needs.
It's not about whether he wants his kids or not, it's about
1. Is he financially capable
2. Is there a conducive environment for the kids, i.e. access to quality education, they will scrutinize the lifestyle of the man and his new wife, the fact that she is nursing won't help matters.
Where will he place them? Will his wife be saddled with the responsibility of caring for them?

Let's just see how it goes.
All I see is fathers coming online to get pity, I haven't seen one person going to the authorities for redress, neither have I seen anyone granted custody.

For a full grown man and woman to get up from their house, and help their daughter and sister to leave her husband's house, as a reasonable person, won't you wonder what the woman has been experiencing.
She died, her family is grieving, hubby is asking for babies.

Is he not being insensitive?

These people just think judges and family affairs workers are not humans!

By law, the kids belong to their immediate parents.

You can only take away a kid from their immediate parent if they are not being taken care of.

The man also lost his wife. They even gave him a wrong funeral date after collecting bride price.

How is he being insensitive for demanding for his own kids kwanu? undecided

4 years and you no see your ejima, how body go dey do you?

I know how attached women are with their babies. (Not wishing the OP dead) but Assuming revise was the case and OP's family took the twins from his wife and she came online and narrated the same thing that op said, will your judgement have been the same? Will you have started questioning what killed the husband?

You as a woman, if someone decides to take your kids while you were alive irrespective of what ever happened, will you be the happiest woman on earth?.. I think there are times to play the gender card. This is not it..A father wants his kids.. that was why he came to ask for suggestions.

Please Stop trying desperately to crucify him... We are not talking about the wife but the kids.

What kind of human beings are your inlaws? Usually it is the wife in laws that behave like this plus it is not your fault your wife died. Whatever happened God knows best. Kindly reach out to whom it may concern, (if you can get a good lawyer) fine in order to put an end to this madness.

1. They took away his wife because of one false prophet
2. The woman died under their care, or lack thereof
3. They intentionally gave him the wrong burial date
4. They've prevented him from seeing his kids since

Methinks it's the family who have been insensitive and cruel, not him.

You are such an irresponsible man sha. You mean to tell me that you went ahead and got remarried despite not knowing the whereabouts of your kids?

You don't know about lawyers? Human rights organizations that can get you visitation rights? Nothing? You just moved on with your life and allowed your twins to be separated, not contributing anything to their upkeep, and your excuse is that your wife's family didn't let you.

Tell us again how it happened that your wife, a grown woman was taken by her family from your house just based on hear say from her mum? You don't want to say the truth. Well done, let's clap for you for remembering the children now.
