I think he got additional scenes in the recent Zack Snyder reshoots. He was called by Zack for more content.

It'll be more than a cameo. You remember Zack once said Joker and Bruce worked together to take down Darkseid, putting aside their differences. The fact that he killed Robin.

It's in the film bro. Joker will help Bruce with something. Whether or most likely acquiring a tech or material for the fight against Darkseid. In time we Shall know.

I think the movie will showcase the knightmare scenario we saw in BvS, where darkseid already conquered earth, with Superman as his ally. It is from this Knightmare scenario, an alternate timeline, that Bruce will send the Flash to his younger self. Superman is a baddie in this scenario and Bruce saw that Louis was the key to stopping that alternate timeline from happening.

What do you think of my theory? It appears that this is what Snyder is aiming for.

In a knightmare scenario, anything can happen. Even Lex Luthor worked with the Justice League in the injustice game and Snyder appears to have drawn his inspiration from the injustice storyline.
