The right question to ask is;

Why are bandits more concerned with Yansakai attacks (a local Hausa vigilante group) than that of the military?

Bandits never mentioned their concerns or fear for the military. Indicating that the army never posed a threat to them contrary to what we were meant to believe by the media.

If dialogue can bring genuine peace then it should be encouraged. No society can develop without peace. While the dialogue is ongoing in the North, we in the South must urgently ramp up our defence. Across the South we must start to coordinate local defence units. The Army and police can no longer be realied on, so we must take on the task of defending our land and lives. Our thinking now needs to be based on the maxim of 'Hope for peace, ready for war'

Exactly what I discerned from his (Gumi) statement. He is trying to create a justifiable cause to make them eligible for amnesty.

Really? USA does not negotiate with terrorist and they are enjoying peace in their country; Once you start negotiating, rogue groups will spring up to eat national cake... It all started from ND militants and look where it has landed us.

If we had government void of corruption and military free from nepotism and bribery.... Non of these rogues group would have audacity to talk about dialogue after killing thousands of innocent lives
