Shame on you Seun for allowing so much tribalism on this forum.

It used to be the darling of many of us but since you lot started allowing tribalism, you ruined it all.

And I am not even hausa but it is becoming sickening with the constant tribal.

And to you post, heal yourself of hatred.

I wish the producer the best of luck. It will be a big boost to Nollywood and Nigeria if the film wins the Oscar award in the international feature category.

But a good movie it was.

There's nothing like tribalism...go ask buhari about tribalism.... this movie is not even heard of... how many know about this movie...I'm a movie person and I have never heard about this movie... I can bet that the Nigerian Oscar board is made of mostly northerners cos they are the ones that get appointed in every position in this country...if there is first class nepotism since this man took office in 2015, u dont blame anyone with my type of comment ...

You must be very unintelligent. The film was produced by a Southerners telling a story about a northern tradition. But here you are making stupid tribalistic statements to suit your hate against northerners. Know one thing, the hate you breed against others will ruin you.

When someone speaks the truth with facts ...delusional people like u call it hate... a movie produced by a Southerner but the northern culture is what the world will see....use ur head

Hmmm..... version of Land of Fury. The trailer looks very interesting.... I'll have to watch it. But somehow it reminded me of Hotel Rwanda.... guess similar theme.... but was hoping it wasn't a version of another movie which will badly hurt the chances of winning an award. Maybe that's why it didn't win the African Award?
On Lionheart.... regardless of the disqualification because of language ..... that movie was a drag. ...... saw a whole lot more better Nollywood movies... it was a big disappointment. The Milkmaid.... good one to represent.

I somehow agree with your submission on Lionheart. That movie had all the potentials to be a global hit but somehow flopped. The story wasn't just well written. That doesn't in any way change my love for Genny though. She's my number 1 African actress.

Hotel Rwanda is also a good one. As for this Milkmaid, whoever came up with the story must have been a keen fan of Land of Fury. This is nothing more than the Islamic and Hausa version of it. No disrespect.

Beverlyjean calm down, you usually make sense outside of CR7 matters. On this particular one however, you need to realize that the theme of the movie is what would resonate well most with the international community.

There are three main negative issues that Nigeria is reknowned for globally: Number one is boko haram terrorism, second is internet fraud (Nigerian prince), third is hard drugs. For some reason, the fight against terrorism stirs the greatest emotion among the US and European countries maybe because of their personal experiences. So, any storyline that champions this cause in a profoundly relatable way stands the highest chance of recognition rather than the regular plots. Thus, in my view, it is understandable why the movie was selected for the nomination.

This isn't about Fulani dominance. Afterall in Nollywood its the Igbos and Yorubas that dominate that landscape.

To think of it, these type of comments are coming from an adult. I pray you find the avenue for joy not sheer hatred. But I understand the angle you are coming from. God bless your heart.

Actually it makes all of you look so dumb and stupid.

We know boko haram is politics...and world leaders know this... boko haram are not ur average terrorist like al queda or isis .... they dont strike outside the North... real terrorists would hv struck southern Nigeria and beyond the country... these are just people that were set up to make money for themselves... a terrorist that has been in sambisa for ages and he hasn't been caught...real terrorists switch locations... it is political and when its political, its no more terrorism...unfortunately the poor are the pawns
