Please I need help with my '99 CRV. When in traffic, the temperature guage keeps rising but when on motion it's at normal position (approx. middle position). The two fans are working (running direct) and the coolant is not reducing.

Please what could be the cause. Thanks guys

The weather is probably too hot. As far as your needle doesn't get to the hot/red zone, you're good to go.

I hope it's coolant you're using, if not, flush whatever is in there and replace with coolant.

Thanks bro for your response. A closer look at the car radiator showed alot of rust in the radiator though not linking. A mech recommended I change the radiator since it's very old and looking worn-out, which I did and haven't experienced the sudden temp spike since then.

I use same vehicle and used to experience such but since I washed my radiator the spike in temperature stopped. Now I've returned my fans to factory. I'm also planning to return the thermostat which they removed b4 I bought the car. I suggest you do the same for better fuel economy, also makes your fan last longer.

Thanks for your response. My former radiator was an eye sore so gat to do away with it. The new one is performing so far. Will love to return fan to spec but needs a technicians closeby that believes in it. Any tech around Isolo or Lekki phase 1 area will suffice. Thanks bro
