At this time and age .. Who wants to be driving manual for ehalling .. Driving alone can be stressful unless u driving a sport car .....but manual for ehalling I can only recommend such if I dislike the person ..

manual for e-halling on that Lagos traffic with the constant shifting of gears up and down ... A person legs and arms go be like Arnold Schwarzenegger in 6months grin but na 1 side of the leg and arm go be like Arnold Schwarzenegger grin they other wetin go happen ko ? U go switch sides be dat.. grin u no fit just dey look like Arnold Schwarzenegger half way now ;. Chillex my guy it is well grin
Oga dru, I've always told you to stay away from this kind of discussion cos rumour has it that you can't drive so your judgement on this kind of matter will not count. I drive a stick shift and it is not as stressful as painted. pros are durability, cheaper maintenance, better fuel economy, cars are cheaper. cons: stress of changing gears in slow moving traffic. if you drive a modern manual car that's well maintained, your clutch and gear will be very soft hence less stress while changing gears. I just pity some drivers that can't think. you have 1m but because you want to drive a particular brand with automatic transmission, you'll go and enslave yourself and be doing hp or rental with your 1m when you can get a good car with manual transmission at that price and make money for yourself and become your own boss. I started this hustle with rentals and I first car was an 04 corolla. That car came from canada so had suspension issues. I later bought my own car which was a big daddy camry 04 little did I know that the car is notorious for shorting oil. I use I litre of oil to top up weekly, I later sold off after 9 months of usage. I bought 09 corolla for 2.1m but discovered it's a wrong tool of the hustle too cos its costlier to maintain than previous car and sold off before the AC wahala too starts. Truth be said! the 03-08 corolla is best for the hustle but it is unnecessarily too expensive and the fact that you can't have peace of mind with that especially in Lagos. it's also becoming expensive to maintain too due to costs of parts too I currently drive a brand that's not popular in Lagos, fits the hustle too, though manual but who cares!, cheaper parts, fuel economy is good, rugged, nice looking atleast to my eyes and fits the fare perfectly.

Really?! shocked ... Sweeter than auto?

See how we get used to inconvenience and suffering. Na ur choice sha.

I be wan quote am same thing,
Suffering and smiling, as if whites that built Auto to replace manual doesn’t know why they did.

I choose comfort over anything, auto that you can easily engage reverse and drive in case of any trouble.

That’s how I was at agungi around 10:45pm waiting for mainland trip, I was inside the car resting while waiting for the trip, suddenly I heard people shouting and running, immediately I put on my engine just in case of anything, a guy just came from behind to my car and wanted to hit my car windscreen with plank, I just quickly engage my car gear and put it on Drive.

I hit the guy and he fell in front of my car, I wanted to climb him and zoom off but something just struck me not to kill someone, so I quickly engage my reverse with ease and cut my hand while I engage my Drive to zoom off.

If I was driving manual, probably I will be at ladipo the next day to look for windscreen or be in a hospital receiving treatment from the beating I would have received...

Well, bolt listened and blocked the driver's acct. But I believe with the driver's story, he should be unblocked soon. The lady could have succeeded in blackmailing the driver if the young man wasnt also on twitter to counter her earlier story.

If you dont have a Twitter acct, please have one. It Will help you the day a dishonorable rider goes online to raise false accusation against you.
A certain lady, @OlukoyaBolade, went to Twitter to raise a false accusation of harassment against a driver, perhaps she thought the driver wouldn't have been on Twitter. Now that the driver has given his side of the story on twitter, the hunter has becone hunted and now the lady has locked her twitter and Instagram accts because of too many dragging.

You escape dangers faster with manual cars than an Auto car.

Seems you haven't rode a Manual car before.

Most security and bank cars are manual.
Make your research.

Instead of you to admit you can't drive you are yapping about manual cars tongue
Most long distance transporters, drive hundreds of km daily with manual transmission.
There's no special consideration for the type transmission you drive. You earn same fares.

It's even actually cheaper to operate a manual vehicle.

From frying pan to fire ..continue with manual sir .....very few modern manual cars are even produce self ....lol it is well ... Ford Mondeo /manual guy grin

You can say AUTOs are better alternatives. But they never stopped building Manual cars.

There are later model of cars that are Manual.
Have you asked why?

You will still need the MIC, don't off it yet.
In context of you referring to life expectancy of stick drivers was not about health care system.
So don't shift the goal post.
It is no news that Nigeria healthcare system s**ks, so that one is out of the argument.
As for drivers being able to afford healthcare, it is a matter of someone letting people know that you can have a health insurance for as low as N1k per month.

Truth be told, the main reason for "nonsense" driving in Nigeria, apart from consequences, is because majority of people don't LEARN to drive anymore. Commuters ain't got any clue of road rules.
Reason:
Because it is an automatic transmission they just enter, start, engage the gear and zoom. Some even drive without supervision.
Higher percentage of ones that drive with supervision inherited the errors of their supervisors and the cycle goes on and on.

Who dey want complain to ? If u see dey amount of hard drugs alcohol and unhealthy eating habits they do .. It is a way of consoling themselves.... .......

Again my point here is driving manual car constantly for ehailing or transportation is stressful whether u like it or not.. The constant shifting of gear up and down in heavy traffic will take a toll on the body.. U might not feel it now but down the line u go feel am ....

Disclaimer: I intend not to defend any leader for not doing what they are supposed to do. This space and column is not for such as at the time of writing.
Oga Dru when it comes to people going abroad for treatment sometimes it is a matter of class and levels. Eg: you can treat cancer in Nigeria but some would prefer going abroad. The same way you choose Mobil 1 over other cheaper synthetic oil.
I will lose count with my hands of Americans that travel all the way to Malaysia for medical tourism. Is it that America doesn't have a 'good healthcare system'? (I will not answer that because Covid was and is still and eye opener.)

I watched the lady's video and read the guys version. Las last ehn, it's just to pray to avoid devils as riders, and annoyingly, they are mostly females (no offense to the female folks here).

Most times these (bad) rider's tend to bring out the beast in you and sometimes it gets frustrating. True, we have some uncultured drivers, but it's more in riders than drivers.

May God help us.

The way you guys are demonizing manual cars is hilarious grin

It's not like all your hands and legs are working everytime. You change the stick in less than two seconds.

On a freeway, you don't use the clutch or change gears. You just go to the highest speed and stay there

I drove stick for good 7 years before I even sat in an automatic car

Yes, the auto is more comfortable, but the manual is not as bad as it's been painted..

Stick is bae smiley
