You can start by treating the average Nigerian citizen like a human being and not an animal or the enemy. Second is to stop wasting time waiting for terrorists and bandits to strike and actually look for them with the same vigour you searched for Sowore, Zakzaky and Kanu. If nobody wants to join the army again enlist the locals in troubled areas for short contracts or even better, turn youth service into an actual military training instead of pointless marching and teaching ABC in Zamfara Islamic primary school. 1 Like |

Grace001: Because they are seeing the rise of the Nnamdi Kanus and Sunday Igbohos, if the the now dormant MEND should jump into the mix they are in serious trouble. They are afraid that the people will revolt and since every ethnic group has witnessed how badly they are fumbling they want to use the carrot approach rather than the stick to stop an angry population from violent conflict in addition to the Boko Haram threat. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Criticism Number One: I criticize Nigeria Army for being bullied into doing police work. Doing police work may have saved countless Nigerian lives but this short term benefit has lead to grater loss of life, due to societal break down, since a modern Nation without functioning police force is doomed. Nigeria Army is the plaster Government used to cover a festering Nation that requires the police bandage, sorry for the tortured analogy. In any case, Nigeria needs to invest in deconstructing and reconstructing the police so that it is fit for a Nigeria that has lost its innocence due to modernity. The army facilitates the underinvestment of the police force and the damage of its own military reputation by being unable to fulfill the mandate of police work for which it is unsuited. |
