Don't ever put Anambra with your backward Abia state on the same sentence next time. Abia and Imo are the two most backward states in igbo land and Nigeria in general. Abia and Imo should take a cue from developments in Anambra. Owerri and Aba are siamese twins, both are dilapidated shitholes. Posting random ugly useless plaza is not the reason to post nonsense.

Anambra is the most developed state in igbo land, that's why millions of Imolites are running to Anambra for greener pasture.
sorry, no vex. Hope Abia will begin building such plazas and stripe malls-as you insinuated, Anambra already has everything it needs.

The point is that you should never put Anambra with pariah states like Abia and Imo states on the same sentence. Every state has its class. Discuss your Abia state without joining it with the progressive Anambra, they are never on the same level.

Personally I want more of such plazas in owerri, and better multi storey ones like westgate mall in Nairobi, that's why I want Ararume to complete his 5floors Exclusive stores in New Owerri district

Ararume has been so politically unfortunate.
The man should just give up and focus on other things.
Meanwhile, those who have been crying that Orlu was abandoned can let us have some peace now it is getting attention.

Okigwe will be a very nice place for residency if properly planned. I love the topography and serenity

I think okigwe actually has a plan but of course the issues remain implementation of the plan and infrastructure development...that owerri to okigwe highway just awarded should have been dual carriage way

Keep your Aba dirty mouth in Abia state issues. Stop always trying to align your state with a progressive Anambra. Abia state is the worst and most backward state in Nigeria. Always learn to discuss issues concerning your Abia state without often trying to assume that myriads of Abia problems and under developments are equally existing elsewhere. Take the simple correction and crawl back into your Aba filth.

IMSUTH recieves attention from IMSG, which includes infrastructure upgrade and equipment installation

Great. Imo state needs to recover its university teaching hospital which was a beehive of activities before Ohakim government.

For now, weed off clannish and political doctors & health workers who organized strikes on nearly every quarter of a year to cripple the hospital; because they believe that every government institution must be in the state capital . Such health workers lured former governors Ohakim and Okorocha to look away from the teaching hospital.

Other state institutions of Imo state functioned, why wouldn’t a university teaching hospital which is supposed to be a money machine for government function, even if the hospital is located inside a cave?

I'm calling the attention of the Imo State government. I don't know who gave the contract for the planting of trees and grasses along major roads like Douglas and Orlu road as well as areas around New Owerri, the trees are all dying off and this project must have cost tax payers/state allocation money.

It wouldn't cost much to pay unemployed youths or women and provide them with watering cans and tankers to be watering these trees and grasses until the rainy season sets in. This lack of maintenance culture in Nigeria is very bad!

Imo state government has taken over Eastern Palm University at Ogboko in Orlu, said to be owned by former governor Rochas Okorocha.

In an announcement today, government warned all those it called ‘fraudulent claimants’ to stay away from the university.

It said its right to ownership is based on the fact that state money was used to build the school.

It warned that if they failed to stay away, they would be made to face the full weight of the law.

They have also been reminded that the government has been empowered to deal decisively with anyone or group of persons ready to test the will of government over ownership of the University.

The Executive Council of Imo State took the decision at its weekly meeting of Wednesday, February 10, 2021, presided over by Governor Hope Uzodinma.

The Council accepted the White paper Report on Land Use and Related Matters which recognises that the Eastern Palm University is owned by the state.

It therefore resolved that all necessary steps must be taken to recover the University from fraudulent claimants.

Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, said the Eastern Palm University has been accredited by National Universities Commission (NUC) as the second Imo State owned University.

The White Paper, according to the Commissioner, recommended that the University should be recovered and appropriately designated as a State University in accordance with the laid down guidelines of NUC.

Consequently, Council has directed the relevant ministries to take immediate steps to implement the decisions of the Executive Council, in accordance with the White Paper Report.

The Council noted that the university was built with Imo State tax payers money.

how did they know it was built with tax payers money ? So someone like rochas one of the richest politicians in nigeria cannot afford to build a private university ?

It's not even about Rochas, it is about making sure the university is not run down, and if IMSU is anything to go by, Imo State government does not have the capacity to run Eastern Palm University efficiently!

They should either call for investors in an open bid to take over its management as a private university or return it to Rochas.

Our people are all rushing to standard private universities in the SW and we can't afford to allow Eastern Palm University to be mismanaged which will definitely happen if Imo State government runs it.

I really don't know where this talk of Rochas being 'one of the richest politicians in Nigeria' came from! I think some people where just trying to find a Igbo name to add to the list of thieving politicians that made billions of dollars from being in gov't! Some of their own policticians are so greedy they're now dollar rated billionaires, so in their usual style they look for one or two Igbo names to add to the list to make it look like it's not just their own politicians that are greedy billionaire muthafuckers!
