We all know lekki is not an agbero or omo onile zone, so why would hoodlums want to hijack a protest that alienate a common problem to all ... if not that they are working for the govt.
Do thugs do anything for free, who sponspored them, durings election what class of citizens work for these politicians.
Why is the govt alway so sure there will be an hijack, what is the essence of a right that can not be freely exercised. protest seems to be the only power meaningful nigerians have over the govt hence why the govt will stop @ nothing to discredit it with "hijack"
there is nothing wrong with kids been immature when old fools can't be an example
You didn't follow the the protest

Yes hoodlums hijacked it in lekki.

Another thing, did they get cleared to protest?

Incase you didn't know, they're planning to burn, those aren't even hoodlums, just ajebos thinking this is the west grin

This is what GEJ should have done to Bubu, Sowore and others when they spoke out about state of affairs under his rule.
Fututre leaders, learn how to gag anyone that speaks against you in future. Buhari are you dia? You are doing well.
I don't know why you people keep painting GEJ as though he was a saint.

Buhari does not gag anyone. If Buhari is as bad as you all paint him, the likes of FFK, Fayose, Shehu Sani, and others would be languishing in jail as we speak.

Under GEJ, were people not shot during the subsidy removal protest?

In 2014 Osun gubernatorial election, many people (including students) were unjustifiably arrested and detained. Lai Mohammed was arrested and detained until after the election.

What about how soldiers rigged the 2014 election in Ekiti. A whole governor Fayemi could do nothing because soldiers and DSS were everywhere. The helicopter that was supposed to convey Oshiomole to Ekiti was not given clearance until after the election. Tinubu and other chieftains were not allowed to leave Ekiti of their own accord.

What about how Patience Jonathan (who was not an elected official) used ordinary commissioner of police to bully Amaechi who was a sitting governor at that time?

Buhari has never used CPs to bully any governor, and he never will.

He is a far more tolerant man than GEJ.

But many Nigerians have short memory.

I read that they were charged for breaking covid19 protocols. I saw about 5 people wearing their mask properly with others not wearing at all.

The law is always blind to those that breaks any part of it even if the person is fighting for the sanctity of the same law.

So it is a right to disrespect an order by the government? In other countries you have seen on TV, that's how they do right? So government cannot say no to this and the citizens obey? Crap
say no to what please? The constitution is the supreme of any country and its gives right to protests and freedom of movement.. so what order again? Government should concentrate their efforts in ending the insecurity in the country and stop chasing shadows..

No one knows.

Probably politicians who wanted to turn Lagos State upside down.

No one should expect Sanwoolu to not be extra careful.

Protest yes but dont block the roads.
By protesting and blocking the roads, you make it difficult for people who want to move. Also, this protest was previously hijacked it went out of hands. Government knows why they dont want it. If you are the government, you wont want it.
Government should concentrate their efforts on a lot of things. But doesn't mean they should not avert another disaster if they see one.

It's crystal clear that Sanwa Olu will do 1 term. New LASG Governer come 2023. No time!

what happens when NLC, ASUU, TUC go on strike and protests? The economy is grounded.... What they are protesting for is for all and it's the same attitude that makes the government ride on us...

It is true that the Constitution gives the right to protest, but the same constitution also gave the police the power to break a protest if they sense that it could negatively impact public peace.

In fact, the essence of protest permit is to ensure that all the rules that make a protest legitimate are put in place.

For example, if your protest blocks traffic, causes other people any sort of discomfort, your protest would be deemed illegal, and the police would break it up.

I have not said politicians sent the hoodlums.

I have only used the word "probably".

Anyone could have mobilized the thugs to Alausa to make Tinubu appear responsible for the chaos. In fact, Tinubu has been blamed for starting the protest to embarrass Buhari, while some others have also accused Tinubu of bringing in the hoodlum to save Buhari's reputation.

In Nigerian politics, anything is possible.

I'm not accusing Tinubu here but an opposition party won't have access to Brt also I know Tinubu hands are tied because he doesn't know which camp to support all because of his ambition but the people will always remember the leaders that stood up for them..
.I know after Buhari tenure many can of worms will be open...

How did you know that an opposition party cannot have access to BRT?

What if the buses were commandeered by the hoodlums?

the court of law has Said nobody needs a permit to carry out a protests, there is judgement about that. Yes the police are meant to keep law and order by protecting the protesters and making sure it was peaceful not arresting in a saner climes police only use force when protesters becomes violent but the case our police start to round up people for no reason....

Paddy man bail in court is like a bond...doesn't mean the person standing in as the surety is paying N100k...he only presents evidence of the availability of the said sum...he forfeits it if the charged person jumps bail or absconds.
Many of the #EndSARS people don't know this, as a matter of fact, many of them don't know anything on how the Nigerian Legal System operate or how Government runs and they can't debate issues intelligently.

They will just be throwing insults and abuses or introducing irrelevant childish tantrums and unnecessary emotional outbursts.

it wasn't a crime and they were never supposed to be arrested whether they were warned or not, we are not in lockdowns.
No government likes protests against them, but no government has any right to stop a peaceful protest, just because a protest once turned violent doesn't mean there can't be another anytime. Anyone can protest.
