No one was expecting a different outcome. We all knew the Senate would vote to acquit him, the Dems are very much aware of this. They set the GOP up for the higher court of (informed) public opinion, the Republican Party fell right into the trap and just found themselves guilty of corruption, complicity and utter disregard for facts and justice.
