This is the part of the road i was referring to in my previous post below. This is truly wonderful!! It is fantastic he is putting wide gutters and doing this work in dry season. I hope they have a serious sense of urgency to complete it before the first rains begin next month.

God bless Gov Okezie Ikpeazu for his courage to tackle this part of Eziukwu road! It has been bad for more than 25 years!

ChimaAdeoye:

Nnwanne,

I was raised in Aba. I lived on Crystal park hotel junction, Akalanna street and later on Ekenna str off Okigwe road when i worked in the old Absuth site. Now reverted to Aba General hospital. I said all these just to make you understand that i'm not one of those you can fool in Aba. Abum KOMPLETE NwaAba!

Back to my question: (Let me explain the bearing so you'll totally understand where i'm asking about).

If you stand on Eziukwu road behind the Aba General Hospital (Old Absuth) facing Osusu railroad (Ama Ogbonna) & Osusu market,
1. On your Right Eziukwu road leads to Milverton junction, to ASA road (That is the part you are showing)
2. On your Left Eziukwu road continues until its junction with Ehi road, Cameroon road (That is the part I am asking)

The part of Eziukwu road that you are showing has remained motorable but bad. The part of Eziukwu road that i am asking has remained impassable for many years. My question is whether it has been fixed.

Let me quickly add that i'm so grateful that Governor Okezie is finally fixing internal roads in Aba and working on drainages to help reduce flooding and elongate the lifespan of the roads. I am completely grateful to him. But he shouldn't relent. A lot more needs to be done to return Aba to its former glory.

It’s almost like the present Abia gov’t is starting from scratch! You then have to wonder what the two Orjis’ did in that state for a whole 16 freaking years! sad

Someone should help us tell the gov’t to green up all these new roads they’re constructing with trees (where space permits), carpet grass and shrubs!

Yes, the present government is starting from the scratch. The two previous Orjis did NOTHING to develop the state.

Seriously.....I keep saying that if any of the Orjis did half of this, Aba would be a small London by now.

I just want to contribute in sharing this video so that those of you with recalcitrant relatives in the north can convince them to move to other places or come home with their families NOW!
Even if they don't want to return, they should at least send home their wives and children.

We know Igbos in the north are the most stubborn characters in thinking once their neighborhood is calm right now, it must remain so forever. They also pay little attention to the fact that once things start and reprisals in the south follow, even to run away become blocked. Let them listen now and not come back to say nobody warned them or convinced them to steer clear of the danger looming in northern Nigeria.

Nobody should blame anyone if they fail to heed the message. na dem wey dey risk the lives of their children for pennies they are picking in the north, na dem f00lish pass. Some of their children could become the Dangotes of tomorrow if they they don't risk the lives of these children by keeping them in the north under the current situation.

"Current status of the 35km Ekeakpara - Owerrinta - Nnonyi - Umuobasi Amavo road. The road crosses many communities and is of utmost importance. This road leads to NNPC depot with countless other companies and industries. This road is being built with Rigid Pavement Technology from Osisioma junction. While another company is handling from Ugba junction to Osisioma"
35km? Are you sure they can finish this road?

"This is Port-Harcourt road as at today. Contractors have resumed work on this all important road with a mandate to deliver at least two lane of the proposed six lane.

Cleaning and excavation has been done from Asa-Nnetu down to crystal park as well as the fine grading. They are currently working from crystal park heading to Uratta junction.

Note that the massive underground drainage system that will take the flood water away from these roads to Aba river is undergoing simultaneously"

I decided to take a moment off my schedule to snap pictures of Osisioma flyover, to debunk the claims of some ........ that the flyover is still abandoned. The flyover was left so that the contractors handling Enugu-PH road (Arab contractors) could reach to the Aba section and work together with the contractors handling the flyover. A special lane has been marked out by Arab contractors for those going to ply the flyover to do so without interrupting flow of traffic along the express.
