Do you know that alcohol is more dangerous than all the drugs in this world put together? Yes including crack, cocaine, meth etc.. Why do you think it’s called spirit? Well it’s because when you are on it, another spirit takes over you. Why do you think the government legalized it? Don’t you know the world itself is God’s enemy? And if you are friends with the world you become God’s enemy too (James 4:4 kjv).

Now what makes you think the Lord will drink alcohol? Are you well at all? You are now equating yourself with God. Maybe you should go back to (Rom 1) which is a reference to the Gentiles in (Gen 11) to see what happened to mankind when they made themselves equal with God. Examine yourself.

@iyambz, as I already posted on the other thread, fruit juice is not a cleansing agent, it is alcohol that is a cleansing agent. Alcohol is used to clean scratches and mild wounds, also used to sterilise medical equipments like needles injections, surgical blades etc, and not fruit juice.

Apart from the stress relieving and relaxing nature, that alcohol, has on the body and mind or when in higher doses its anaesthetising effects, it is its antiseptic properties that was the reason for why Paul advised Timothy to drink a little alcohol for getting relief of his stomach ailment that was brought on from drinking of bad water that was causing the frequent illness in Timothy

Aside drinking alcohol to help ease an upset stomach, drinking alcohol also aids digestion, as it stimulates the stomach's enzymes, that from there, helps with getting on to break down food taken in, for good and full absorption into the body.

To drink alcoholic drink is your prerogative. You have the right to drink alcoholic drink, especially if it is good for you and beneficial to you. You are allowed drink alcoholic drink so far you won't allow it to master you, gain control over your life or bring you under any negative power or influence.

Ephesians 5:18, states: 'and not to be drunk with wine, in which is debauchery. Instead be filled with the Spirit'

The word debauchery, up above, means, extreme and excessive consumption of wine. If you want to do extreme and excessive indulgence, then, be filled with extreme and excessive consumption of the Holy Spirit is whats advised to be the preference and not extreme and excessive consumption of alcohol.

The Ephesians 5:18 KJV, 'And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;' you quoted in your original post, is not a commandment advocating that drinking alcohol is bad, but is talking in respect of drinking alcohol, beyond a normal limit, beyond what is needed, desired, appropriate or drinking too great to be what is reasonable or acceptable.

The bottom line, is, so far alcohol, is used in a good, beneficial and not in excess way, there is nothing in alcohol that is bad for anyone.

On instruction from God, in Deuteronomy 14:26, the above is what Moses said about drinking of alcohol, the commandment even makes a distinction between wine and strong drink (i.e. fermented drink) so not to mistake either of them for fruit juice.

The Psalmist, in Psalm 104:15 states:
'You make wine to cheer human hearts, olive oil to make faces shine, and bread to strengthen human hearts.'

King Solomon, the wisest man of his time, in Ecclesiastes 9:7, says:
'So go ahead. Eat your food with joy, and drink your wine with a happy heart, for God approves of this!'

Paul, in New Testament 1 Timothy 3:8, about deacons (i.e. assistant pastors) states:
'Deacons must also be of good character. They must not be two-faced or addicted to alcohol. They must not use shameful ways to make money.'

iyambz, are you going to try and say, that in the above quoted 1 Timothy 3:8, it is about Paul, talking about wine there, meant to be medicine?

If you admit that God made alcohol, with the purpose that men will use it to make medicine, do you think if you don't consume it with pleasure, it will work?

The reason why when you are on a medication, the doctor will advise that you stay away from alcoholic drinks, simply is because to prevent you exceeding the alcoholic content in your body that will lead to drowsiness and likely end up causing you to harm yourself from coming under the influence or power of the increased alcohol content in your system. This shows that it will potentially kill you, when it is missed, abused and you refuse to take the advice, under that circumstances given you, to stay away from having or drinking alcohol.

Drinking alcohol, is not just only good, for medicinal purposes, but its also good, for use in religious, celebration and merriment purposes. When I say religious, remember to remove, the getting drunk part, out from it (i.e. 1 Corinthians 11:21)

Alcohol can be an idol in your life. why? Because every time that thing comes up, it trips your trigger. You say how do I know? It's because somebody is kicking your god, and you'll do everything to defend it, including using the Scriptures. An idol is the thing that you worship, just like people worship celebrities and will always defend them because they are nice people in the eyes of men. Your thoughts is not God's thoughts. Focus on here and after, and stay away from things that appeals to your flesh but won't help your soul.
