Because of climate change ( formerly known as global warming) wind turbines are frozen in parts of Texas.
As a result they are using fossil fuel powered helicopters to spray chemicals on the turbines.

That is because turbines in Texas aren't built to withstand unusually cold temperatures, as are turbines in colder climates where wind production is used.
In Saskatchewan, we have had -54 c several times in February already and there are zero frozen wind turbines. Texas only went to about -10c and things are shutting down. Lol.

Texas leaders failed to heed warnings that left the state's power grid vulnerable to winter extremes. Incompetent leaders are the problem.

Annoyingly, my province is sending electrical power down to some southern states in the US because of the unusual freeze. Most of the states are those stupid red states.

It was newly released that Texas was warned a decaded ago that it's grid was not prepared for cold.
