Good initiative. The WB and IMF will be pleased. Privatisation has always been one of their foremost conditions. I must say that it is probable that private enterprises should be able to run these vital industries more efficiently.

Sell the country to themselves with stolen government money, use the proceeds to fund the budget and plunder the budget all over again

I am afraid

This government has recklessly borrowed foreign loan with our national as collateral

Yet, the same government is about to embark on selling revenue yielding assets that should provide cash to repay the loans

Is that the recommendation of the YO's led economic team? Honestly speaking this VP should resign. He has nothing to loose. Otherwise, he will lose everything he has ever worked for in his life.

Must we go on protest on #endbadgovernance again?

Rather than yielding revenue, most of these industries have been propped up year after year. Let private owners run them profitably and pay royalties and tax to government coffers. As long as they are public entities, they are not likely to make real money. Public enterprises rarely ever make profit, anywhere not just in Nigeria.

sell it to who

let me guess

1. Tinubu

2. Alpha Beta Consulting

3. Oando

4. Bola Hammed

5. Bola Tinubu

6. Tinubu Hammed.

sentiment aside
whether the person stole or not any body who is willing and ready to purchase the refinery and make it work should be giving the opportunity to do so that the benefit will get down to the people in the long run.

methink it is time to force them to re invest their wealth in nigeria

International Conference Centre Abuja, National Theatre Lagos, Kaduna, PH and Warri Refineries that waste TAM money every year, Nigeria Film Corporation that existed for ages and achieved nothing, etc.vetc. should be sold to generate money rather remain cost centres. If not for Igbo traders Trade Fair Complex Lagos wouldn't be 60% utilized though 40% is still wasting away.

Now, the problem is not selling but who are the BUYERS. Don't sell to Indians for they will sell assets and take money home. Don't sell to political party members for they will not add any value. Sell to local or foreign firms who are already in business or known and proven entrepreneurs with clear utilization and development plans.

But this is Nigeria. The last time we sold DISCOs, it was shared among politicians without any improvement in light.

If not for traders not igbo traders. Na wa for you o

why would DAngote buy obsolete refineries when he has spend years building his own which is larger than all of them combined? One of the refineries cannot even use Nigerian crude!!

No to outright sales because the money gotten from it will be looted. It should be leased or run in partnership with a private firm. They are looking for opportunities to loot and also make our oil rich region empty of any investment.

Nigerians speak out. It is our collective assets. It belongs to us all especially those of us in Niger Delta.
