Clients preference. In most of the drawings I have built, the specifications always reads 2 blocks before the decking beam, but a lot of home owners are now loving an additional 300 mm on the top of their building plans and we have to give them what they want, as long as it's structurally safe to do so.

But remember, the clients will always pay for the difference in the additional line of blocks with workmanship. Note also that this have a few more implications in the finish, cost of finish materials and workmanship will rise up slightly.

Did you use 16mm or 12mm for the decking? Do you remember how many pieces?

This is a very big decking and and as such, needed adequate reinforcement. We used;

16mm rods 130
12mm rods 350
10mm rods 30
8mm rods 50
Rolls of binding wire 2 1/2
We also spent up to 70k on transportation and loading charges.

Let's start the concrete blinding for this security man house.......... we plan to start the foundation blocks by tomorrow morning.

I have a question though, on your suspended slab/decking, why did you use to spread that nylon?
Asides from preventing leakage of concrete, does it have any other advantages?

Apart from holding the concrete from slipping through the cracks, the nylon performs a few other functions. First is that it helps to prevent early water loss in the concrete slab cast, prolonging moisture retention, thereby helping the curing process of the slab. Another advantage is that it preserves my wood. When I use nylon to separate the wood and the raw cast, it tends to prolong the durability of the wood, making it possible for me to reuse the wood.
