Those who watch movies are using it to pass time, to avoid something they should be doing,

If you have dreams and ambition, you can hardly concentrate on a movie, because your mind is already occupied.

I would rather rewatch Merlin 300 times than watch this stupid movie with a predictable plot

must we put white people in our movies to make it interesting?

People with good movie plot idea don't have money

while the money bags are without ideas

just look at the nonsense movies AY is shooting.

I liked the Indian/Nigerian fusion of the story. It is not putting 'White' people to make it interesting; it is exploring a different face of marriage discrimination based on tribe.

https://heavyng.com/blog/namaste-wahala-review/

Rajesh was a perfect gentleman: assertive, courteous to family, friends in-laws and colleagues, go getter etc all without been rude.

Unfortunately, Didi was the opposite: cheerful and warm at work, combative at home.

How can you drag kitchen with your MIL to be? Was that not an opportunity to learn how to make their dishes? And you rush to serve him Noddles you have served him all the while with his mom?

Like her father noted, her ego was so huge that 1. Her mother had to physically beg her to come back home;
2. Her father had to concede to her before she could make peace with him even if they are on opposite sides
3. Her friend (Raj's cousin) had to convince her aunt to see her in another light.

Interestingly, Rajesh's mother tasted the noodles and confirmed it was great; she could not even taste the dish out of curiosity or learning to see what it was like.

Sadly, she is the architype of the 'modern' woman.

I don't know why they can't replicate the male attributes in the females:

Same thing with Jamie and Claire Fraser in Outlander:

Jamie Fraser was humble and teachable to concede when he did not know or understand something; our darling claire knew it all.

Everyone (including a seasoned farmer like Jenny) was willing to learn from Claire (good or bad); Claire never learnt anything from anyone.

@Rajesh's friend seemed dramatic and slow; I liked Didi's friend.

I did not understand the part of Preemo: it was simply unintelligent.

Her part would make sense if she was a relative or mistress to the father.

Got disappointed from the 1st scene
It wasn't close to being real
In the 2nd scene do ladies gush over a guy they don't know like that? It was over dramatic
The way RMD reacted when he saw the Indian guy in his home, no learned fellow will react like that even if he doesn't his daughter to marry him...
I didn't finish the movie, I couldn't continue

Oya share na.

I like movie reviews/character analysis.

Lol. Where do I start?

First, I think it was a great idea to make a Bollywood/Hollywood fusion. Indians account for a high percentage of expats/foreigners living in Nigeria.

I like the character of Raj. He's a calm, well-raised young man, but there were times I wished he'd be firmer in demanding that his mother treat his girlfriend with civility. He was confident and unabashed in his declaration of love for Chidinma to whoever cared to listen..

Ini-Dima Okojie is a great actress, but I feel her expressions were a bit exaggerated. Her parts I enjoyed the most were the scenes that were a sort of face-off with her dad. The movie intended to make her out as an exceptional lawyer, but she really wasn't. She won that case by sheer luck and Raj's influence.

RMD! Always at his best! I respected how he didn't make a habit of butting in to save his daughter from Preemo's spiteful criticisms. He understood it would only cement the assumption that she was a privileged daddy's girl. He let her fight her battle.

Joke Silva... the typical sweet Nigerian mum... loving, supportive and defensive of her daughter, but also letting her husband be the head for peace to reign.

And then Angie. Really, I love Angie... that crazy supportive friend you just can't help but love regardless of their vices. She might have come off as too extra to some viewers, but there are actually people who are that extra. She brought vibrancy to the movie...humour, excitement.

I love Leila... calm, sophisticated, a heart for people, family-oriented. She really was a natural at her role. There was no hint of acting, as far as I'm concerned.

Preemo... bitter girl who begrdugdes her boss' daughter her birthright. She constantly felt the need to prove she was better, when Chidinma was absolutely not contending with her.

BrodaShagggiii!! I didn't always like him. I thought he was too razz and dramatic. But you know, what, brodashaggi always does justice with his features, even if it's just a scene.

I actually rated it 8/10 because there was little to criticise.

3/10. Even aki and pawpaw is more interesting than it.

Is obvious this writer and self acclaimed wanna be critic knows nothing about good movies.

U called wedding party 2 and chief daddy poor movies but this below average Namaste wahala super hit.

Even India critics (Bollywood) rates it 2.5
It would have been a diaster if it was released on cinemas.

Predictable story line.
Poor background score.
Average performance.
No intriguing scene.
Average costume.
The worst india dance ever.

Even the romantic part wasn't even romantic like a movie that has Bollywood touch.
