Imo, the Supreme Court Jurists and the Ills of Democracy As Imo State government dig deep its status, and the question of democratic leadership raises again, many are wondering how Imo State got here. The trenches of bad governance, legitimacy crisis, unpopular government and its policies have now become the hallmarks of Gov. Hope Uzodinma’s rein in Douglas House. It is one of a depressing story, that has caught Imo citizens and electorates unaware and in search of the moral compass about the essence of democracy. https://leaders.ng/imo-the-supreme-court-jurists-and-the-ills-of-democracy-by-eberechukwu-lebechi/ 4 Likes 1 Share

Finished Reading. The first thing is to acknowledge that the Supreme Court judgement was based on valid evidence. The case brought to the court is of unlawful voiding of votes. The INEC cancel some votes illegally, the votes were cancelled based on assumptions that it was corruptly obtained after the PO have declared result, election sheets were signed and pasted with copies given to all relevant stakeholders. According to our current electoral law, no law can void a validly declared votes. This is reason why some smart crook politicians make sure that results were never declared in polling units where they are not winning. The courts, including the Supreme Court never imposed a candidate on Imo State residents, they only agreed to the subsisting law, accept all illegal cancelled votes, take the summation of the new figures, and declared the person/party with highest votes winner. The most recent elections where Supreme Court imposed candidates on voters are Bayelsa and Zamfara states where Supreme Court nullified majority votes casted and called them wasted votes because of error of either the candidates or the party. In Zamfara over 80% of the total votes casted were total ignored, in all fairness, the court should have ordered a new election. Our media are not seeing that as injustice and impositions because it does not suit what they want to sell. 9 Likes

The Court which is supposed to be the hope of a common man is the hope of an influential criminal instead His reaction and action towards the IPOB in his state has shown us how bad a leader he is and the way he is fighting his predecessor Rochas Okolocha also It will be a shame on Ndi Imo if this man remains in government house beyond 2023 11 Likes 1 Share |

Let it be known that Hope Uzodinma being the Gov of Imo State is a mistake and a disaster. That man was given to us by the Judiciary and now, he is suffering that same Judiciary. I heard he has not paid them their January salaries. Fucc'd up gov frm d pit of hell He has not done anything of worthy. Being using his power to demolish the properties stolen by the prev criminal govn(Okorocha). He has not executed any "new" project, what he does is to renovate "fairly good" roads, but turn blind eyes to bad roads. Woe betide anybody that open his mouth and praise Hope Uzodinma. he and Buhari have special room in hell fire 12 Likes 3 Shares

My problem with people from the yeast AKA ipobians is that they never criticize their bad leaders...the menace of bad leadership in Imo state is only a microcosm of what the entire eastern region is facing...from Abia to Enugu to Anambra they've all been plagued with bad leadership...what borders me is the sworn silence of secrecy by their people..they never criticize their leaders but will always masturbate with any news that involves our darling president and Tinubu...well Ebonyi state seems to be an exception.....let's all work together so that Nigeria can be great for us and our unborn children...wanting out isn't the solution because this same set of touts will still lead in the newly formed republic....Nigeria must be great.. God bless President Buhari God bless the federal Republic of Nigeria 2 Likes 1 Share |

Deep down in Uzodimma heart he knows he is an usurper cum persona nongrata at d Douglas House. The writer appears to be rooting for d Okorochas political dynasty with d mention of Uche Nwosu. Any restitution on this matter will be giving back Ihedioha his mandate and apologizing to him thereafter. 1 Like 1 Share |

For the justices that made that evil judgement, may posterity grant them same evil tidings. At that level of their professional achievement, they looked the other way and took a decision that might scar the IMO people for a long time. That decision lacks merit and set the JUDICIARY back a notch in my take. 2 Likes 1 Share |
