The rate of gun violence is very alarming in the US. People buy guns easily over there. It would have been one of the safest places on earth if not for their silly obsession with firearms, and to make things worse, buyers don't go through any rigorous evaluation process like other countries like Switzerland and Iceland.

I maintain my stance that Nigeria is safer if you have money. On the other hand a street thug can be stabbed for N200 in both Naija, US and UK.

Don't compare Nigeria to the U.S when it comes to being safe. I felt safer in the u.s, Canada and Joburg than i did in Nigeria.
If you're not into shady deal in the U.S, you don't have to worry about anything.

A friend was shot dead by thieves in Nigeria, thieves coming to your house in Nigeria is bound to happen a thousand times than in the U.S. Look at these fulani people killing without mercy, that doesn't happen in the U.S.
I have travelled the length and breath of South Africa and Southern Africa and I feel safe even around 2am on the highway. If stopped by the police, they only ask if you're okay and to ensure you park when sleepy, thats all. I can't say the same for naija police.

Please don't ever compare.

USA is only second to Brasil as the murder capital of the world. Visit US crime websites or even 'Worldstarhiphop' to see utterly, senseless killings. People are being killed for a pack of cigarette. A young man shot dead for bumping into another thug is a supermarket. Not to mention mass murders by sick school children. Yes. i cannot compare. NIGERIA IS SAFER. Naija may be rougher, but it's way safer.

If a thief breaks into your house in Nigeria and you give him N10k and convince him that's all you have, he will gladly leave you alone. Don't do too much gra gra... you will be alive. I have seen someone shot in NY because he looked at a thug the wrong way for too long.

Sometimes we overrate this advance countries so much. Of course, they have far better system and society but the fact still says they have many unsolved cases too and yeah, many cases get closed unsolved after having elapsed the duration of time the law permitted. Thank Goodness someone's given you famous examples already and there are many unpopular ones too.
Infact, there are even cases where the law ended up punishing the wrong individuals. So they ain't perfect. No one, place or system is.
