Chai. Even water we can't boast of in this country.

The post clearly mentioned Enugu. I wonder how Nairaland attracts these iliterates.

actually no, I have lived there before, the lack of water is cos the state is on a mountain/hill, also it’s a coal state, so any borehole you dig will eventually dry up cos the water is too far deep in the ground .. this is the only problem that state has
Wow, when my mom told me this I refused to believe.

So true... Gburugburu has failed in that regard.

There is serious water issue in major part of the state... Currently I purchase 25 litres of water for #120.

To manage the water... I dey shot put with nylon bag!
To bath is a project... Economics apply in the use of the water... 10 litres for two days!

Who told you Enugu has poor people? Enugu has
Scarcity of water cus of coal in the soil texture. Water is the only issue we have in Enugu metropolitan. I bet with my ball that you will leave that your current town if you mistakenly visit Enugu because that's the best and developed place in the South East and South South excluding Uyo.

Don't ask me how I know because I have visited the 6 states in South South and 5 States in South East in the past 2 years.
Eh, have you been to anambara, what about calabar. Please I have stayed here for a long time, and this tops my list in the worst stares I have been to.

UAE does not have any water except salty sea water with rainfall like twice a year yet they have abundant water because they found solution to their problem, you are suppose to spend money on your need not on wants, there are technological solutions to treating bad water and turning it to very good one, that's what they did in Dubai and they have abundant clean water, it's a case of remove the plank in your eyes before pointing to the speck in my eyes, ordinary chemistry student can teach them about filteration and many other means of water purification, they even treat waste water from soak away in some places to make it clean and usable, the technology exist to do that, but they prefer to insult every other person and point out others perceived weakness, imagine a whole town without water, very bad

Solar panels cannot run pumps "efficiently" yet.

We have to be thinking of water lines, drainage, and power supply in the same breath.

In America or other serious places, it is a must to account for these before passing a home inspection talk less of streets and cities.

Living in Enugwu have made me appreciate my state more. What nonsense? Even their boreholes are undrinkable, their wells stink and their streams are toxic. Bro can you imagine that 25 litres of #10 in my state is sold for #70-80 in Enugwu....ahhhhh that's very shameful

There are free boreholes everywhere in the east, but tue problem of Enugu is more of a geographical challenge. The boreholes are nothing to write home about, after weeks of drilling you'll get grey water that you can't even drink or use without sterilization. The wells also suck because the underlying waters are bad... probably from centuries of reactions between the aqua and fossils of the earth's crust.

Developers who developed Lagos and Abuja can't give themselves water. Bia frauds.
Just look at how you are exhibiting sheer stupidity and ignorance. Enugu topography or the nature of the state makes it difficult to drill borehole individually there. Have you been to Enugu before So in ur foolishness, you think someone that built modern house or duplex can't provide constant water for himself and family
The way you guys talk senselessly on this forum is very worrisome. Afonja idiotic bastard. Anu ofia

It's not shameful. That's the nature of the land there. There are tons of coal deposit underneath that hardens or impedes borehole water drilling there. If the State govt is responsive, this water issue would've been a thing of the past.

Powering of Oji-River thermal station with coal was made obsolete because of insensitivity and sheer negligence of successive Enugu/SE governments. Very pathetic
