Could have just reached out to the East and signed a deal wtih fellow Nigerian car manufacture in order to keep the money circulating in Nigeria. But at last, the debt to China is enormous and China calls the shots here.

The real educated and focused ones among them will be searching for opportunities either through direct employment or otherwise to benefit from this project. smiley

The useless illiterates and criminals among them will log in to their useless handles on social media and start insulting Tinubu from sunset to sunrise on daily basis. grin

Yet their government can't provide water for them in 21st century

This is a big deal guys. GAC is one of, if not the largest car manufacturer in China and one of the largest in the world. Lagos needs to invest in more sustainable energy and efficient transport system to make this viable and much attractive to China.

Lagos has the advantage of cheaper labour than China so Nigeria could actually become a car manufacturing hub for major car companies.
electricity, logistics, haulage on bad roads, security no dey

The only thing this will do for Lagos is, maybe just create job opportunities. There is nothing new in assesmbling it here. Lets manufacture here. Sign with Innoson. Support our own. Leave chinese.
They think they are doing us but they are killing their own industry, west never patronised East, but let's see how indigenous car manufacturers will rise in their region when the keep given, chinese, Lebanese and Indians preference

When the North hoard food and you didn't think of self sufficient, then you are more than a f--l.
Is food the only problem, are we not supplying machine parts, drugs, clothing and the rest, are we not the biggest importers, so what are you saying, we dominate some things, but self sufficiency is not something you get to by inviting foreign firms, in the long run he has killing western industry

I am not sure what that Moniker meant but the plant will surely bring jobs, tax revenue and boost the region’s manufacturing sector. When foreign investors see the success of this venture, they’ll be more inclined to invest and bring jobs to the SW.

This a win-win-win situation for Lagos and the region.

Depending on how you are seeing it, today you are pursuing Fulanis out of your land, tomorrow it will be Igbo, next Indians, then Lebanese and Much later Chinese, because your government never prioritizes their own peoples, what makes you think that those Chinese won't bring over their people to manage those plants, what makes you think only your people will get a job in the plant, if he invited inoson for partnership, most of the workers will be Nigerians and Innoson naturally will employ more Yorubas in the west but does a Chinese man know the difference between a Yoruba and an Igbo wgen considering giving a job

Experience: I bought made in China car (used) 2012 and was happy with my buy. 3 months later and I was on my way home from work with colleagues and had the sunroof open. Minutes later, we heard thunder cracks and decided to collapse the roof. As I pressed the button, omo na so the roof fly comot. We we're all shocked. Had to form 007 on the road to get home before the rain gets to us first. Fixed it the following day.

Like few weeks later, headlamps that I used my hand to change from halogen to led, one of them turned pink and the other remained white when the car was not undergoing genetic mutation.

There was this times I'll be in the traffic and bonnet will be bouncing not like how we see on TV but obvious enough for you to notice it. The driver next to me asked if there was a problem? Too ashamed, I had to tell him that I'm responsible cos I always like feeling the vibe.

Sold it off that weekend. Hat to chest for the current users if it's still alive.

One thing you don't get is, noise doesn't change much, ask yourself is Lagos really better than PH, now Lagos might generate more money but then Lagos owes more, Lagos seaports had been active unlike PH, about 70% of PH wealth are indigenous while Lagos can only boast of about 50% indigenous wealth and when other tribes are out then south westerners can only imagine about 20% of Lagos wealth, this our concern, it is not good for country neither is it good for Yorubaland or Yoruba people, what happens to promoting indigenous companies, this step is what South west keeps taking ever since after the cocoa days, what you don't get is that if care is not taken should the east get food sufficient, the economy of south west could drop more, these things are not good patronise Nigeria
