Powerful Truths From The Book Of Revelation - Joseph Prince by jiggaz(m): 9:59pm On Mar 04, 2021
24 August 2016 - Powerful Truths From the Book of Revelation - Pastor Joseph Prince Sermon Notes Online - New Creation Church Sermon Notes Online

Even if you don't understand what the word of God is talking about, it is still cleansing you and you can receive healing through it.

There's no such thing as the gospel on one side and the message of grace on the other side.
There is only one gospel - the gospel of grace! This gospel is as old as the Apostle Paul!

Christians don't like mud. A sheep may fall into the mud but it doesn't like to be dirty.
A pig on the other hand, will be wallowing in the mud, having a great time. It doesn't mean that believers don't sin anymore, but it's not a believer's nature to sin.
The more you identify with your new nature (you are the righteousness of God in Christ), the more you will be victorious over sin, and you will sin less and less.
We are not identified with sin but we are identified with righteousness!

The world is afraid of contagious diseases. With Jesus, wholeness, life and health are contagious.
It doesn't mean we won't fall sick, but it means that we will get sick less and less
.

Matthew 5:1-2 - Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount while seated down. It's a good idea to do that to prevent fainting or falling down (haha).

“And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him. Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying:” ‭(‭Matthew‬ ‭5:1-2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Revelation 1:12-13 - Jesus said He is Alpha and Omega - Aleph and Tav - the first and last letters of the Hebrew alphabet.
Jesus is the Center Shaft of the Menorah. When Jesus is in the centre of your life, you will be held together and integrated.

“Then I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And having turned I saw seven golden lampstands, and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band.” (‭‭Revelation‬ ‭1:12-13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

In a relationship, if you focus on each other, you will drain each other. If you focus on Jesus, your relationship will be closer.

The Book of Revelation is in three parts: the things you have seen (past), the things which are (present), and the things which will take place after this (future).
After Revelation 3, the church is already in heaven.
Revelation 1 is the things you have seen. Revelation 2 and 3 are the things which are.
Revelation 4 all the way till the end of the book are the things which will take place after this.
From Chapter 6 - 19 the church is no longer the subject. The church is already with Jesus and no longer on earth.
The "saints" mentioned in those chapters refers to the people in Israel who will believe in Jesus after the Rapture
.

Revelation 1:17-20 - The word "angels" in Greek is "angelos" which just means "representative". It can also refer to humans.
It refers here to the pastors that are the leaders of each church. The pastors are held responsible for the church, not the congregation.
All the seven churches are found in Turkey
(used to be called Asia Minor).

“And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death. Write the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will take place after this. The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden lampstands: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands which you saw are the seven churches.” (‭‭Revelation‬ ‭1:17-20‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

Revelation 2:1-5 - "Left your first love" is saying that the pastor of the church of Ephesus has forgotten about God's love for him.
In a marriage, when a husband loses the feeling of affection towards the wife, start doing the first works again.
Don't look for the feeling. Kiss her even when you don't feel like it. Say lovey-dovey words to her. Love follows the actions.
"Remove your lampstand from its place" doesn't mean that you will lose your salvation. "Lampstand" refers to a church.
It means that that pastor will lose his church and influence if he doesn't repent. God is the One that gives one influence.
It's not what you do, but why you are doing it. Motives are very important to the Lord. The church of Ephesus did their works without love
.

““To the angel of the church of Ephesus write, ‘These things says He who holds the seven stars in His right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands: “I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars; and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name’s sake and have not become weary. Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent.” ‭‭(Revelation‬ ‭2:1-5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

John 10:27-29 - The word "never" here is a strong double negative, meaning "never ever, no way".
Never interpret an obscure verse with an obscure verse. This verse is a clear verse that no one can lose their salvation
.

“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.” ‭‭(John‬ ‭10:27-29‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

Matthew 7:21 - What is doing the will of the Heavenly Father?

““Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.” (‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

John 6:28-29 - This is the will of God: that you believe in Jesus.

“Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?” Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”” (‭‭John‬ ‭6:28-29‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

It's actually not called the "Judgement Seat of Christ", but rather the "Bema Seat of Christ". It is where believers will receive their rewards from God.
Regarding the Bema Seat of Christ - The Judge is my righteousness. Pastor Prince said that he will expound on this in a future sermon.

A church can have sinners in it: there is a difference between possessors and professors.
Possessors really believe in Jesus as their Lord and Savior and they possess eternal life.
Professors say that they are Christians but they don't really believe in Jesus. They are not saved
.

I John 2:18-19 - "They" refers to professors who say that they believe in Jesus but they don't really believe.
The fact that they leave the church shows that they are not true believers.

“Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.” (‭‭I John‬ ‭2:18-19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

Matthew 13:24-30 - The parable of the wheat and the tares. The tares represents non-believers who are in the church.

“Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.” ’ ” ‭‭(Matthew‬ ‭13:24-30‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

Matthew 13:36-43 - It is possible for sinners to be in the church - the kingdom of Jesus Christ.
Only at the end of this age will we know who is really a believer and saved.

“Then Jesus sent the multitude away and went into the house. And His disciples came to Him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field.” He answered and said to them: “He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one. The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels. Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age. The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” ‭(‭Matthew‬ ‭13:36-43‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

I Corinthians 5:9-13 - The Apostle Paul is referring to people who profess to be believers and yet indulges in a sinful lifestyle - he's not referring to the people of the world.
God is more severe and stricter with people who pretend to be believers. God can be kinder to the people of the world than to people who pretend to be believers.
In the Book of Acts, Ananias and Sapphira dropped dead because they were pretending to be believers and were trying to deceive and cause harm to the church.
There are even pastors who are not saved - maybe they just want a job to earn an income or they want influence over people.
God will not tolerate pretenders like these who are harming the true church.

“I wrote to you in my epistle not to keep company with sexually immoral people. Yet I certainly did not mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world. But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner— not even to eat with such a person. For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? But those who are outside God judges. Therefore “put away from yourselves the evil person.”” (‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭5:9-13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

The first three churches don't exist today.
The church of Thytira is Roman Catholicism.
The church of Sardis is Protestantism - Martin Luther.
Philadelphia is the church that Jesus commends.
Laodicea is a wealthy church that boasted in their wealth.

Revelation 2:11 - Overcomes doesn't mean never ever sinning. To overcome is to simply believe in Jesus as Lord and Savior.

““He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.” ’” ‭‭(Revelation‬ ‭2:11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

Revelation 3:5 - Once you are saved, you will be clothed in white garments - your name will never be blotted out of the Book of Life.
In the eyes of God, we are all wearing white garments that invokes angelic help, attracts God's blessings and scares the devil.

“He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.” ‭(‭Revelation‬ ‭3:5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

Revelation 3:21 - As believers, we are already seated with Jesus.

“To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.” ‭‭(Revelation‬ ‭3:21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

I John 5:4-5 - We overcome by believing that Jesus is the Son of God.

“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?” (‭‭I John‬ ‭5:4-5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

Revelation 21:8 - Only non-believers will experience the second death. God will never call you a liar, extortionist, adulterer, etc if you are really saved. He calls you a saint.

“But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”” (‭‭Revelation‬ ‭21:8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

"You know why you are suffering this now? It's because of what you did last month/week/yesterday/just now." That's the voice of the accuser.
That is not the voice of God. At the cross, Jesus already paid the price for all of our sins past, present and future. We are the righteousness of God in Christ!

When something wrong happens, it's an attack. Pray against it, but don't think that God is against you. God is not causing it. He is for you!

Revelation 3:14-20 - Jesus is speaking in the language of the Laodiceans. They were money and profit-minded. Most of them were not true believers.
Jesus beautifully asks them to buy salvation and righteousness from Him for free.
There is nothing wrong with money, but we are not to be greedy or identify ourselves with how much money we have.
Jesus waits to be invited in. He doesn't break down the door even though He has the power to
.

““And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, ‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked— I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your unclothedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” ‭‭(Revelation‬ ‭3:14-20‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

I Corinthians 13 - The greatest is love.

“And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” (‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭13:13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

Hebrews 10:22-25 - An evil conscience is one that doesn't trust that Jesus' work is perfect and that your sins are completely forgiven.
Many people around the world are not coming to church because the messages preached vague and not giving them security in their salvation.

“let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” (‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:22-25‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

Hebrews 10:1-2 - It is the Gospel of grace that purifies us so that we have no more consciousness of sins and stirs up love in our hearts.
"Once" is the Greek word "hapax" which means "once and for all" and "purified" is with continuing effect.

“For the law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect. For then would they not have ceased to be offered? For the worshipers, once purified, would have had no more consciousness of sins.” (‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:1-2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

Galatians 1:6-9 - Paul, the Apostle of Grace pronounced a double curse on anyone who preaches any other gospel than the gospel of grace.

“I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.” ‭(‭Galatians‬ ‭1:6-9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

Acts 13:6-12 - No judgment came upon Elymas the sorcerer until he came against the gospel of grace.
God protects the true gospel and is severe with whoever tries to pervert or come against it.

“Now when they had gone through the island to Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew whose name was Bar-Jesus, who was with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, an intelligent man. This man called for Barnabas and Saul and sought to hear the word of God. But Elymas the sorcerer (for so his name is translated) withstood them, seeking to turn the proconsul away from the faith. Then Saul, who also is called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him and said, “O full of all deceit and all fraud, you son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease perverting the straight ways of the Lord? And now, indeed, the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you shall be blind, not seeing the sun for a time.” And immediately a dark mist fell on him, and he went around seeking someone to lead him by the hand. Then the proconsul believed, when he saw what had been done, being astonished at the teaching of the Lord.” (‭‭Acts‬ ‭13:6-12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

Jesus, our Good Shepherd, holds both a rod and a staff. The staff is for the sheep - believers,
whereas the rod is for fending off wolves - unbelievers who would try to harm believers.

Genesis 15:6 - We are made righteous not by our works, but by faith.

"And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness." (Genesis 15:6, NKJV)
