Disappointed in the level of education in Nigeria that nobody asked how many people total are in the top 2%. The top 2% may be made of 71,000 people for all we know, at which point having 71 people in the top 2% is not impressive.

There are hundreds of thousands of academics in this world so don't be surprised if the number I mentioned is not far from the truth.


Edited - as suspected, there are over 48,000 in that list of top 2% academics, and there are only 71 Nigerians there. That is a shameful stat relative to our population as a percentage of World population

Myth - which list of top universities & when did they top for years? OAU guys are the traditional noisemakers among Nigerian universities & the loudest among them are totally clueless about other universities, that's a known fact. Good school but plagued with mostly substandard lecturers for decades
