Keshi (RIP king) was successful in the fact that he won ANC and got us in R16 but the overall project Failed. Where are the boys that won the ANC in 2013) most of them career went to Oblivion even at a younger age. What happened after 2013 ANC? We failed to qualify for back to back ANC first time since 1996 even 1996 wasn't a qualification issue. Anyway, we must improve our Grassroots, Academy and the league before ever thinking of doing a Quota system team selection. For now, the best available players must be invited to SE
Germany won the world cup in 2014 and they retired those players so what is your point?

Stop telling fake stories. We were also using foreign based players when we failed to qualify. Players like Leon Balogun, Troost Ekong, Simon Moses and Ighalo were first invited by keshi. Keshi is the foundation Rohr has been building off.

The lad has been injured. That's the major reason. When Toru is in action, he gets mentioned. Especially by me.

JohnBullMySon:
how come no one mentions torunarigha here again? Seems people are loosing interest in prospective FB players.

Folks, it is confirmed.

Umar Sadiq will be named to the Nigeria Squad. This is coming from sources within Almeria.

Almeria will be in action during the International break so Sadiq will miss two Almeria games against Leganes and Malaga because of International duty.

What a season Umar Sadiq is having. I personally thought he won't be invited because perhaps Rohr will wanna wait till he makes his La Liga move but it seems Rohr will rather begin integrating the lad now than wait that long.

Congrats to SADIQ. Hardwork pays.

I was also wondering why you weren't mentioning him as well. He and lookman will be our biggest steals. For me, Tosin can go as far as Torun is coming, I don't even want congested centre back options. If that news is to be trusted, then it's nice seeing lookman stick by his decision.

I totally forgot their league doesn't go on break. Leganes will miss Omeruo badly.

I don't believe the issue is foreign born or home based. If Keshi was still around, I believe he'll invite even more foreign borns than Rohr. Hardwork and consistency is not something very common with our foreign based home borns, apart from few exceptions like Ndidi, Zaidu, many fail to reach their potential. Hence the need to bring in homebased then who are hungry for fame and to take their career to a new level. Now FBs are the mix, playing in quality leagues and showing good levels of consistency, so it's not strange if they displace the home based guys as well as others. Mind you, other African countries are moving for their FBs to build their teams because they have seen that FBs make up a large part of all the top teams in Africa. Any move to indigenize the national team, will take us down where you won't like.

Right now, the focus of the league should be more marketing. the national team is not where the league is marketed. the league should be on TV fully first, from there, they can sign players to highly rated farmer's leagues and even the big 3, but not these low rated carpenters league. money will come in and the league can improve, but all these Barca academy and the likes in Nigeria will not help us, it will only end in us gifting Spain an Ansu Fati.

Nobody mentioned the U-17 cancellation. This U-17 set has been cursed by Covid 19.

Yes Keshi definitely would have been leaning on the fb and he might have gotten even more than we have now because of his personal touch. This is how Leon said he reached out to him.

“Balogun, do You know who this is? I said no, who is this. And he said Stephen Keshi, how are you my Son?

As for the league, I don't want any player going there to become a training cone so it is best that they stay away. The NFF should get the chan team together and start playing friendly matches. That is what we really need, an active homebase national team.

There is a phrase given to people who count chicks before the eggs have hatched.

How far Osimhen will go or indeed how low is not established.

On the other hand lghalo is proven and tested.
Time without number osimhen has disappointed you, you keep making snide comment about the boy.

Have there be anyway to justify how far a player will go or not? that's why I've question if you're God to tell the future.

We were all here when ighalo was having a bad time with the Super Eagles but Rorh stick with him you can screw back to see different tantrum through at him but here he is he has become the bench mark to measure some players

How proving and tested Ighalo would have be if rohr has not stick his neck for him maybe no body would have remembered him, Osimhen on the other hand is young and he is on the right path please be lenient with your comment.

You may consider my comments patronising but thats your problem.

Comprehension is not as common as I think.

There is a huge DISPARITY between "May Never" and "Never Will" That obvious disparity is completely lost on you.
No not really, I've been long enough here to know your character.

Talking about comprehension, i think that should be one of the difficulties you are passing through, your inability to grab simple sentence (years back you made mention of your age and i think you are in the last stage of the ageing stage of human)

although i wouldn't want a situation where i would drag a senior citizen like a teenager but i will appreciate it if you are civil in your communication next time, thank you.

Deviating a bit, I must say...

....Jamaica will be some team once they can complete the switches of most of these lads.

The President of the Jamaican Football Federation has said the following players are in the process of getting passports to play for Jamaica:

Guys like:

Ivan Toney
Michail Antonio
Demarai Gray
Nathan Redmond
Andre Gray
Isaac Hayden
Liam Moore
Mason Holgate
Kemar Roofe

It's just Max Aarons who hasn't made up his mind yet.

Omo.... Naija and Morocco are not alone in the heavy side of the Dual Nat arena. grin

Meanwhile.... Joachim Low will be leaving the Germany job after the Euros this summer.

Been head coach since 2006. What a run. 2006-2021.

A few might be tempted to ask... "Biko, can Löw replace Rohr?" wink

This will lift the burden of Leon Bailey. Good for them.

These players have finally realized they stand no Chance with England

Are they training U17 or U13? Because that is what will determine their intentions. if they ship a player to Barca at 13yrs, by 17yrs, the player will be a dual citizen.

Trying to get a bunch of dual national players who come from top clubs but barely get playing time is not a sustainable selection policy.

My eyes are on Lookman. Can't wait for him to join SE. Ovie will be good competition for Iwobi. Torun in defense will make us easily forget Tosin. My belle just dey sweet me.

Include Senegal as well, close to half of their team are FBs, but because they're all black, it almost goes unnoticed.

We really do not have the kind of players that will play to Onachu's strength. Victor Osimhen and Sadiq Umar remains our best striking options.

The list is here....

Moffi and Onuachu on standby.

Umar, Osimhen and Iheanacho are the three strikers. I said it. Rohr always names just three in a 24 man list. Didn't think Moffi will be shifted to the standby. Wow.
