Why is on the stand by list?
TheSuperNerd:
Ladies and Gentlemen, I have just confirmed it from Rohr himself through my source ofcos. wink

The Olise named to the list is Michael Olise of Reading indeed.

That's a catch. More info to follow later.

The same Olise Nigeria media reported that he ditched Nigeria. From today I'll stop believing Nigerian sport sites unless it's npfl news.

Guy relax. As much Rohr dey vex all of us, some of the takes from some of una here reeks of either misinformation or Zero information.

First of all, Jamilu Collins have made 14 starts of the 15 games he had featured in for Paderborn this season. So how has he not been a regular?

Also, Taiwo Awoniyi is still injured. You will call up an injured player??

Chidera Ejuke just resumed football in 2021 after the Russia League went on a long winter break. And he isn't in better form for now than the others invited.

So you gotta really calm down bros. In the end, I think apart from the invites of Shehu and a Club-less Musa, the list is just fine. The backbone of the team - The Key players all made the list.

Alfryd:
I’m happy for the enyimba guy,he
deserves it,I would have preferred
onuachu in place of Musa but due to
his performance for the eagles,it’s
difficult to make a case for him.musa
should not be in the team for now, rohr
has taken 100 steps backward for this
singular act,we thought that his
selections have been based on players
performance for clubside,but it shows
that there is either a quota system thing
going on or he has started behaving
like our local coaches collecting
EGUNJE.is he there to motivate the
players,is he a coach?Musa is not even
a vocal person and doesn’t even have
the charisma of a captain.how is
Collins still a super eagle player?
Someone who doesn’t play regular
football for second division side,ajayi
wey dem dey beat every weekend is
still there ,he is no longer playing for
westbrom self.shehu still continue to
make the team,a player that contributes
nothing ,in thier places,I would have
called up people like ejuke,anaemena
,awoniyi to join the team.i will see how
they will fair against Benin at away.

The real African problem is that we always want to push the blame to anyone with a lighter skin complexion....we are never at fault.

When the so called technical committee claimed that rohr releases lists without properly consulting dem...alot of guys here supported them...now them don return to our normal pattern of nepotism and unmerited callups una dey shout...some ppl self dey blame rohr....make una no worry, una never see anything yet...quota system, nepotism, tribalism, bigotry, every single f**king virus dat has plagued our country nd left us a desolate shadow of the potential we initially promised is about to crawl back into our SE team
....
Make everybody tighten their seat belt well.. grin grin grin

Bar Musa and Shehu its a good list
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by zoboizee:
The coach oftentimes thinks of conuter-attacking football. His team is set up giving the ball away constantly, park the bus, then pick a loose ball and hit on the counter again. He has lot of players who are or can play as central defenders and almost none with creative spark in the middle of the pitch. His thinking has always been how to quickly close up the defence & take the ball away with speedy wingers. In his team list, majority in defense & midfield could fit in as vice versa.

1. Leon Balogun
2. Troost Ekong
3. Chidozie Awaziem
4. Ken Omeruo
5. Semi Ajayi
6. Wilfred Ndidi
7. Ola Aina
8. Shehu Abdullahi
9. Zaidu Sanusi

I think it's time we start doing like the developed countries do when it comes to announcing squad list.

Let the coach face the Camera(like a press conference). Face the media and tell us why certain players are there and why some are omitted

Punchng reports Michael olise

https://punchng.com/full-list-rohr-invites-enyimba-keeper-musa-osimhen-21-others-for-benin-lesotho/
It Micheal olise of reading he accepted SE some weeks ago he couldn't make the main list because of passport... He is not the only one affected with the passport issue the some other players were also affected but will be called up in the subsequently matches that quite sad....
Moffi was actually on the list before it was changed by Austin ( technical director) but for real no one can overlook nacho performance
Concern shehu invitation we all thought olise will be coming in but the passport issue was just there so the technical committee added up shehu as his replacement that was a late decision
Musa was in the team because of the personality clashed between some players .

Personally i think it a good list .....the technical committee work with rohr closely on this ...and this is a balanced unlike the previous one we were having more defender and less midfielder.... 3 gk 8 defs 6 mids, 3 strikers, 4 wingers is perfect am looking forward to the match though.. wink cheesy cheesy
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by lloydtruth: 3:45pm On Mar 09, 2021
Collins should have been dropped, leaving Sanusi and Aina to the left back. Ehuehi and Awaziem should take the right back, making Ajayi drop back from the midfield to the center back. I don't see the sense in leaving Olise on standby if truely he has agreed to play for us. It's obvious that some powers influenced the list, Shehu and Musa have no business in that list, in their positions Onuachu and Moffi should have been considered. Sadiq good inclusion.

Like I earlier suspected when the list first dropped. Olise passport process is not yet completed. But I await even more info from my source to Rohr.

This passport thing had been the delay for the likes of Ehizibue and a few others too.

Yes. It's a very strong list of players. Very good list bar the Shehu + Musa selections. Shaa, make we no overblow the Musa own especially since na elder statesman duties he go carry out for camp. grin

The standby is also a fine list of options and Olise is coming home thankfully. Just hoping Amaju and co do wrap up the details of the lad's process swiftly.

And finally, there will always be players who some of us wish could make the squad so it's normal.

But I'm curious. Apart from those out injured (Akpoguma & Awoniyi) and apart from those named to the Main and standby lists. Who else where you looking forward to seeing? wink

It not only his decision he carried rohr along
Moffi time will come soon
If rohr is to make to be autonomous we will be having 5 CF in the list cos he wanted to invite all the inform CF but all of these CF will be tried out in the friendly....we have depth in the CF role.

Told you all that list was definitely altered. Moffi was a sure banker for the main list. Rohr even hinted it himself in his last interview with NewsCentral.

But again, I know it was gonna be tough naming Four strikers when Rohr normally named Three strikers based on our last outings the two International windows of 2020. I knew Rohr will go with three strikers.

Umar, Iheanacho and Osimhen is a solid and dynamic trio of options. All offer different skillets and approaches to the CF role.

Moffi's time will come. Standby is still not bad considering the brilliance of the players also picked in that role.
